Step 1 warm-up: Ask the students some questions about the text, review the understanding of the text. Do you have eye contact with strangers when you talk to them? Are you afraid of strangers? Why? Why not? What should you do if you want to make friends with other people? Why do people need to have eye contact? Do you know what to say when you first meet people? What kind of topics can you talk about? Step 2 Making expressions: Ask the students to study the following expressions and try to make another one.
Step 3 Discussion in groups: Ask the students to discuss the following two questions: How do you begin a talk with a friend? How do you begin a conversation with a stranger?
Step 4 : Homework

Discuss the questions on the topic: smile and say hello. Make sure they understand the main ideas of the text.
Study the following expressions and try to make another one. Keep…from, pretend to , As long as, as well as.
Discuss the following two questions and share the information with the whole class.
