    1. The main content

    This lesson is chosen from NSE English book the first semester of grade nine module 2 unit 1. The theme are holidays, festivals and celebrations. The reading material is a dialogue between Tony, Lingling, Daming and Betty, The dialogue is they talking about the National Day together. They respectively introduced the origin of the Nation Day in China and the United States, different ways of celebrating it and the arrangement of their families holiday activities. The text mainly lets the students learn the expression way of date, the composition of ordinal number and the way of reading.

    2. The type of the text

     The language of the text is a little difficult for students because the dialogue involves the expression of dates.

     

    1. The purpose of the text

    (1) Students can understand the speakers intention and the main idea of the passage through intonation and stress.

    (2)Then students can express the dates correctly in daily conversation.

    (3)Meanwhile, let students willing to contact foreign culture, enhance the awareness of the motherland.

    (4)Whats more, students can pay attention to and reflect on their own progress and shortcomings in English learning.

    (5)At last, students can talk about important festival customs and differences between China and foreign counties.

    Analysis of students

    1. After two years of English learning, students have a certain foundation of English, most of them are at an intermediate level and dare to express themselves, a few of them are shy and reluctant to express themselves, very few students are not interested in English and are absent-minded in class.

     

    1. Coping strategies

    So the teacher needs to design fun and varied game activities to attract students to participate in learning and increase their interest in English.

    teacher should use communication activities to encourage students who are good at expressing themselves to stick to themselves.
