本节课是高中英语第一册Unit 3 Celebratins的第三课Memries f Christmas,课型是阅读课,介绍了一个关于圣诞节的故事。主要内容是讲述作者为何喜欢圣诞节,回忆和Granny一起度过圣诞节的欢乐时光以及表达对Granny的思念之情。通过本节课的学习,让学生了解圣诞节在西方文化中的意义,从而使学生更多地更深入了解西方文化,进而适当地将中西文化结合;同时也希望通过本课的学习,让学生学会如何表达与圣诞节相关的话题。
语技能目标:
学生能够借助关键词,在理解文章大意的基础上,找出段落主题句,完成读前问题;
用所学的词汇和语言的对课文进行复述。
知识目标:
能够正确运用以下单词和短语:mess, slightly, excitement, appear, s affair, swallw, fall ff, pass away, cme t mind等;复习被动语态,能熟练应用被动语态以及能灵活使用相关动词词组。
情感态度目标:
热爱和尊重不同民族的文化,在新环境中进一步树立准确的语言学习观。
重难点:
(1)如何使用地道的英语介绍西方圣诞节;
(2)正确理解并运用被动语态和动词词组。
(3)了解西方圣诞节的意义以及对中西方文化做出对比。

(1) Read alud the title f the lessn.Check that studentsunderstand the meanings f memries and Christmas.Discuss what they knw abut the hliday and hw it is celebrated lcally and arund the wrld.
(2) Explain that students will be reading a stry abut what a writer remembers abut her grandmther.Read the rubric and then readthe phrases in the bx.Clarify the meaning f any unknwn terms.Ask students t answer the questin in the rubric.
(3) Allw students time t discuss the prmpt with a partner r in small grups.

Read and Explre
The fllwing is a memry f a wman abut Christmas.Read the stry and find ut why it was such a memrable Christmas t her.
(1) Read the rubric t students. Pint ut that the rubric states their reasn fr reading. Elicit that they are t find ut why the writer thinks f her grandma every Christmas.
Ask students t skim the stry t find keywrds related t Christmas, such as presents, Father Christmas, snw, decratins, and sugar biscuits.
(2) Allw students time t read the stry independently, r call n vlunteers t read sentences alud.Remind students f their reasn fr reading and ask them t state their reasns why.
Step 3:
Underline the writer's memries f her grandma and tell yur partner.
(1) Ask students what kind f events the writer mentined in the stry. Elicit that the writer mentins minr details. Ask students t decide whether the details they recall are minr r majr.
(2) Read the rubric t students and emphasize that they shuld find majr details.
(3) Encurage students t discuss the details that they fund and talk abut hw they are imprtant t the stry.

Step 4:
(1) Read the stry again.When did these activities happen? Cmplete the timeline.Then talk abut what happened based n the timeline.
· Read the Skill Builder and explain the cncept f sequencing.
· Read the rubric and intrduce the diagram. This diagram shws hwthe passage is sequenced. Let' read the passage nce mre and then rganise the activities int the diagram.
· Supprt students as they cmplete the task. Encurage them t rephrase details and ideas frm the passage int their wn wrds when discussing their ideas.
· Discuss answers as a class.
(2) Use the subjects, verbs r verb phrases and adverbial phrases in the circles t make sentences abut the writer's memries f the Christmas.
· Read the rubric with students and ensure they understand the wrds and phrases in each circle.
· Read the example sentence and have students place a tick beside each cmpnent n the wrd r the phrase in each the three circles.
· Have students wrk in pairs and allw them time t find the remaining answers. Encurage students t use their memry t recall details.
