Hearing the bad news,they culdn’t help crying.
When they heard the bad news, they culdn’t help crying.
n+动词-ing:On hearing the bad news, they culdn’t help crying.
Be careful when crssing the street.
Be careful when yu are crssing the street.
While playing the pian, she gt very excited.

Having turned ff the radi,he began t g ver his lessns.
After he had turned ff the radi,he began t g ver his lessns.
after+动词-ing:After turning ff the radi,he began t g ver his lessns.
Having received his letter,I decided t write back.
After I had received his letter,I decided t write back.
after+动词-ing:After receiving his letter,I decided t write back.
Nt recgnizing the vice,he refused t give the persn his address.
Because he didn’t recgnize the vice,he refused t give the persn his address.
Being s angry,he culdn’t g t sleep.
Because he was s angry,he culdn’t g t sleep.
Frgetting his manners,he put his feet up n the desk.
As he frgt his manners,he put his feet up n the desk.
Having been t the Great Wall many times,he didn’t g (there) last week.
Because/As he had been t the Great Wall many times,he didn’t g (there) last week.
Nt having received his father’s letter,he decided t make a call t him.
Because he hadn’t received his father’s letter,he decided t make a call t him.
有时,动词-ing形式前可带有连词althugh,whether,even if,even thugh。
Althugh wrking frm mrning till night, his father didn’t get enugh fd.
Althugh his father wrked frm mrning till night,he didn’t get enugh fd.
They came int the classrm, singing and laughing.
They sang and laughed;they came int the classrm.
They sang and laughed, cming int the classrm.
The bus was held up by the snwstrm, thus causing the delay.
The bus was held up by the snwstrm,s it caused the delay.
