One f my favrite psters says, “Life is a test. It is nly a test. Had this been a real life, yu wuld have been instructed where t g and what t d.” Whenever I think f this humrus bit f wisdm, it reminds me nt t take my life s seriusly.
When yu lk at life and its many challenges as a test, r series f tests, yu begin t see each issue yu face as an pprtunity t grw, a chance t discver mre abut life. Whether yu’re being bmbarded(轰炸) with prblems, respnsibilities, even insurmuntable(不能超越的) difficulties, when lked at as a test, yu always have a chance t succeed, in the sense f rising abve that which is challenging yu. If, n the ther hand, yu see each new issue yu face as a serius battle that must be wn in rder t survive, yu’re prbably in a very rcky jurney. The nly time yu’re likely t be happy is when everything is wrking ut just right. And we all knw hw ften that happens.
As an experiment, see if yu can apply this idea t smething yu are frced t deal with. Perhaps yu have much pressure frm yur parents r yu have a demanding bss. See if yu can redefine the issue yu face frm being a “prblem” t being a test. Rather than struggling with yur issue, see if there is smething yu can learn frm it. Ask yurself, “Why is this an issue in my life? What wuld it mean and what wuld be invlved t rise abve it? Culd I pssibly lk at this issue any differently? Can I see it as a test f sme kind?”
If yu give this strategy(策略) a try yu may be surprised at yur changed respnses. It has becme far mre acceptable t me t accept things as they are.
