    This is the second period of this unit. The emphasis of this period will be placed on the important words,  expressions and sentence patterns in the reading text. In order to make students understand these points,  teacher can first get students to study the usages themselves and try to make a summary according to the examples,  and then try to put them into use to improve the ability to use them in a real situation. At last under the guidance of the teacher, students can make use of what they have learned as much as possible to express themselves. By doing so,  students can grasp these important language points well.

    Knowledge objectives:  Learn some prefixes or suffixes and enable the Ss to master the usage of the key words and expressions in this unit.

    Skill objectives:       Enable the Ss to use the sentence patterns flexibly.

    Step1 leading –in

    1.       Use ppt to show a long word and guide them like this:

    Look at the following word and guess what is the meaning of it.

    2. Point out the word formation and give the related prefixes and suffixes.

     

    Give a complex word and ask students to guess the meaning of it and observe the formation.

     

     

     

    To check whether students to find out the prefixes or suffixes and guide students to the study of word formation.

    1.   Look at the following words and find out their regulation.

    -form-: reform; preform, inform; uniform; transform

    prefix  前缀:

    re-=again; pre-=completely; in-=into; uni-=single; trans-=changed
