The first batch f 20 natinal parks include 9 Suzhu classical gardens: Zhuzheng Garden, Liu Garden, Wangshi Garden, Huanxiu Villa, Lin Grve, Yipu Garden, Ou Garden, Tuisi Garden and Changlang Palivin.
Natinal parks prefer t the famus city parks and gardens. Suzhu classical gardens are parts f China’s precius cultural heritage (all the nine gardens are n the list f Wrld Cultural Heritage) as well as a necessary part f the life f Suzhu citizens, nt t mentin they are als wrld-famus turism resrts. In fact, their unique histrical and cultural backgrund serves t cntribute t their ranking amng natinal parks.
The earliest classical garden in Suzhu can date back t the Sng Dynasty. Hwever, the gardens impress their visitrs nt nly with their ld histry but als with their delicate scenes, particularly Changlang Palivin, Lin Grve and Liu Garden, the mst famus fur that represent different styles f dynasties f Sng, Yuan, Ming and Qing.
In 1978, an imitatin f a Suzhu classical garden was set up by Chen Cngzhu (the authr f the bk Suzhu Classical Garden) in the City Museum f Art in New Yrk, US, which was the first time ever t directly intrduce Chinese ancient architecture t Westerners.
There are 20 parks elected as the natinal parks in ttal, and half f them are in Suzhu.
