    Unit 8 Is there a post office near here? (Lesson One)

    Teaching aims:

    1  Enable students to review the prepositions.in, on, under, in the front of, behind, on the left of, on the right of, between and …)

    2  Enable students to review the sentence structure: Where is/are the ?

    3  Enable students to master the new sentence patterns:

    -Whats on/ in/ under the desk?

    -There is ./  There are .

    -Is/Are there on/ in/ under the desk?

    -Yes, there is/ are./  No, there isnt/ arent.

    4  Enable students to do a long speech.

    Teaching important points:

    1  Remember all the prepositions.

    2  Master and apply the knowledge of new sentence patterns.

    3  Students can feel happy through learning in the class.

    Teaching aids: PPT

    Teaching procedures:

    Step 1. Warming up

    Read the new words of Unit 8.

    Step 2. Greeting

    T: Are you ready?

    Ss: Yes, I am.

    T: Good morning./ How are you?/ What day is it today?/ Whats the date today?/ How is the weather?

    Ss: Good morning.Its sunny. Sit down, please.

    Step 3. Lead in/ Review

    1  Enjoy the song—— On In Under

    2  Through the video, introduce the prepositions.practice the words with teachers demonstration

    Review the words with pictures on the blackboard.

    3  Use PPT to practice the sentence pattern: Where is the cat?

       And practice with the upper students. Then teach all students. At last, do a team competition.If your group does the best, you will get a point.

    4Play a game——Where am I?The competition between two groups

    Step 4. New Lesson

    1、(Teacher drew the desk ahead of the time.

    T: Look, there is a desk. And There are many things near the desk.

    Introduce the things using Whats this?/ What're these?

    2Choose 2-3 students to introduce the new sentence patterns:

    -Whats on/ in/ under the desk?

    -There is ./  There are .

       Teacher teaches all students, and then teaches group by group.

    4  PracticeGroup competition: The group that spends less time is the winner

    T-S1,S1-S2,S2-S3…)

    5  Choose 2-3 students to introduce the new sentence patterns:

    -Is/Are there on/ in/ under the desk?

    -Yes, there is/ are./  No, there isnt/ arent.

       Work in pair, and give 2 minutes to practice by themselves. Then each group chooses two pairs of partners.

    6  Long speech.Use the desk and the things.Teacher sets an example and give 2 minutes to practice in groups. Then each group chooses two people to show. The student who does well, the group can get a point.

    7  Conclusionthe points of group competition
