(not) to do sth. 意为“警告某人(不)要做某事”。如：The police warn us not to go out at night. 警察告诫我们夜间不要出门。He warned Peter to keep away from his daughter. 他警告彼得离他女儿远点。③warn sb. against doing sth. 意为“警告某人不要做某事”。如：He warned me against going there at night. 他警告我晚上不要到那去。My teacher warned me against being late again. 老师警告我不要再迟到了。④warn sb.+that 从句。意为“警告某人……”。如：They warned her that she would lose her job. 他们警告她说她将丢掉工作。The whistle warned visitors that the ship was ready to sail. 汽笛通知旅客船即将启航。 条件状语从句1.定义  连词if的意思是“如果”，它引导的句子表示某事发生所需要的条件，即“在……条件下某事才能发生”，在句子  中充当状语，因此我们称之为条件状语从句。在复合句中连词if引导的句子为从句，被修饰的句子为主句。  从句可以放在主句后，也可以放在主句前，从句放在主句前时，应用逗号将它与主句隔开。如：  We’ll go to the Great Wall if it doesn’t rain tomorrow.   =If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, we’ll go to the Great Wall.  如果明天不下雨，我们就去长城。2.用法  1. 条件状语从句通常由连词if引导“如果，加入”，主句不能用be going to表示将来，而应该用shall, will。  如：If I’m free tomorrow, I’ll go with you.  如果我明天有空，我将会和你一起去。  2. if引导的条件状语从句，主句用一般将来时，从句则用一般现在时，即“主将从现”。如：  If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, I’ll go with you.  如果明天不下雨，我将去爬山。  除此以外，从句为一般现在时，主句还可以用祈使句或包含由情态动词的句子。  If you have any problem with your study, ask me for help.  如果你学习有问题，向我求助。  If you are not careful enough, you may make the same mistake again.  如果你不够认真，你可能犯同样的错误。  3. if引导的条件状语从句可以转换成“祈使句 + and (or)+ 陈述句”。  If you work hard, you will pass the final examination.  =Work hard, and you will pass the final examination.  =Work hard, or you won't pass the final examination.  如果你努力学习，你就可以通过期末考试。 随堂练习根据语境及括号内所给词语的提示完成句子。1.
