    Book 5 Unit5 There is a big bedPart B Lets talk  Analysis of the Teaching Material   This lesson is the fourth period of this unit. It’s a dialogue about Zhang Peng’s living room. Mainly deals with these key words: grandparents, theirs, house, lot, flower and the phrase lots of. And master the sentence pattern: There are.........   This dialogue is close to the actual life of the students and students can use the new words and sentence pattern to describe things in their rooms. Analysis of the StudentsOur students are in Grade 5. After learning English for 2 years, they have some basic English knowledge and have great interest in learning English now. But in this stage, students’ practical of using English is very limited. So they very eager to learn more knowledge which can help them express themselves in their daily lives.Therefore, the teacher should catch students’ attention intuitive activities. Students try to use English in a real situation and improve their abilities in practice.Teaching AimsKnowledge Aims:(1)  Students will be able to read, recognize and use these words:     Grandparents, their, house, lot, flower and the phrase lots of.(2)  Students can understand and read the conversation of  Let’s talk.Ability Aims:Students can describe things in their rooms using the sentences“There is..........and “There are......”Moral Aims:Students will love their families more and enjoy learning English.Key and difficult Points(1)  Students can read and write the words correctly.(2)  Students can use the sentences to describe things in their rooms.(3)  Students can understand the differences between there is and there are. Teaching Methods and Teaching Aids      Teaching Methods:Situational Teaching Method Task-based Teaching MethodCommunicative Approach.Teaching Aids: Multimedia, PPT, pictures and card.    Reflections: In a word, the whole lesson is based on situation, games and tasks, which are designed from easy steps o challenging steps. When the students accomplish for the tasks, they can acquire information, knowledge and abilities.My teaching concept is let students enjoy learning, have confidence in themselves and love English. Students will full of expectation for tomorrow and do the best for today!
