It will also help the students to practice their listening and speaking skills. But mostly importantly, it gives a chance for the students to train their thinking and make them further feel the meaning of helping others.Student Analysis:With the knowledge learned from Section A, the students will not feel difficult to understand the story. But there also some phrasal verbs that the students need to master. 核心素养目标Linguistic skill(s):    To improve ones listening and speaking skills by taking part in the activities in class actively.Language knowledge:    To master the useful expression, like the phrasal verbs.Emotion and attitude:    To learn something from the boy and be willing to help others in ones own way.Learning strategy:    Try to use ones knowledge and experience to come up with an idea to help the boy continue his voluntary work.Culture awareness:To be aware that helping others is a traditional virtue of Chinese culture. 重点Key words:    repair, fix, broken, wheel.Key phrases:    fix up, give away, take after, run out of.Key sentences:I fix up the bikes and then give them away to these kids.He always volunteers to help people in need.Your parents must be proud of you.But now I've run out of money, so I cant buy any more old bikes.I need to come up with some way of getting money or Ill have to stop. 难点How to lead the students to come up with great ideas to help the bike boy to continue to help other kids. 教学准备Teaching planPPTPad(s)Testing materials   教学内容教师活动学生活动. Presentation1a & 1b4min  T: Im so proud that many of you once helped others. And here is a boy, Jimmy, who also likes to help others. Lets have a look how he helped others.First, ask the students to finish 1a.    Then, complete the practice of 1b.         Match the sentences with similar meaning in 1a to have a preview of the expressions which will appear in the listening practice. Then match the phrasal verbs with the nouns and make sentences with the phrases in 1b.

Practice Listening practice1c   1d4min  Play the record of 1c only , and ask the students to finish the exercises.   Then play the record of 1d once for the students and ask them to finish the exercises in 1d. Finally, check the students answers.  Listen to the record for the first time, and number the pictures in the correct order.  Listen to the record carefully again, and take some note maybe, then circle T or F for each sentence in 1d. Revise ones results if there are mistakes.  . PromotionBrainstorm1e4min       Homework T: Now, Jimmy has run out of his money. But he still wants to help other kids by giving away bikes. What should he do?Have the students have a brainstorm in ones group to come up with good ideas to help Jimmy solve his problems.   【具体见如下Excel表格内容】 Discuss the questions with ones group member and try to think out great ways for Jimmy and finally choose one student to share the results of the groups ideas.      Finish the homework after class.
