Everyone may dream at night. Do you always believe your dream? Some dreams make us feel relaxed and happy, while some dreams frighten us. Don’t you think so? I even had such an experience.
One day I noticed the brakes (刹车) on my car getting weaker. They still worked but it took longer for my car to stop. I knew I needed new brakes, but I had many other things to do. So I didn’t take it seriously.

The next morning the doorbell rings. Roger and Helen run to open the door. It’s Aunt Elizabeth, and she’s got a big metal box. She hugs the children. Then she opens the box very carefully. “No, it isn’t,” answers Helen. “It hasn’t got any feathers.”
“Of course it’s a bird, stupid. Baby birds haven’t got feathers.”

“Let’s give it a sausage,” says Roger.
Helen gives a sausage to the animal. The animal is very hungry. It eats five sausages, two cooked tomatoes and six pieces of toast.

You may have heard of therapy (治疗) dogs or even therapy pigs, but what about a therapy horse? Meet Peyo, the 15-year-old stallion (公马) who spends his days doing the rounds at Calais Hospital in France. He helps offer comfort to cancer patients and their families.
Peyo used to train for equestrian (马术的) shows. One day, his owner, Bouchakour, happened to find that his horse had a different, more unique ability. After shows, Peyo would pick people out of the crowd and remain close to them.
Bouchakour later realized that his horse was born with the ability to choose people that were sick. The trainer soon gave up his career as a sportsman. He decided to use Peyo’s special ability to bring peace and comfort to those who most needed it.
The horse has been a volunteer at Calais Hospital since 2016. It is popular with everyone at the hospital, but he’s especially useful when patients are nearing the end of their lives. Having Peyo by their side brings the patients joy in their final moments and helps them have a more peaceful passing. And in some cases, this can reduce their pain so greatly that they no longer require the use of strong drugs.
Since beginning his career as a therapy horse, Peyo has made this end-of-life period less painful for more than 1,000 patients. Not only does Peyo help the sick, but he’s also a true friend to his trainer. “Peyo is my other half. He is my life partner.” Bouchakour says.

Everyone may dream at night. Do you always believe your dream? Some dreams make us feel relaxed and happy, while some dreams frighten us. Don’t you think so? I even had such an experience.
One day I noticed the brakes (刹车) on my car getting weaker. They still worked but it took longer for my car to stop. I knew I needed new brakes, but I had many other things to do. So I didn’t take it seriously.

The next morning the doorbell rings. Roger and Helen run to open the door. It’s Aunt Elizabeth, and she’s got a big metal box. She hugs the children. Then she opens the box very carefully. “Look at the egg,” shouts Helen. “Something’s happening. It’s cracking.” Slowly a long beak appears. “It’s a bird,” says Roger.
“No, it isn’t,” answers Helen. “It hasn’t got any feathers.”
“Of course it’s a bird, stupid. Baby birds haven’t got feathers.”
The animal opens its beak.
“Let’s give it a sausage,” says Roger.
Helen gives a sausage to the animal. The animal is very hungry. It eats five sausages, two cooked tomatoes and six pieces of toast.

You may have heard of therapy (治疗) dogs or even therapy pigs, but what about a therapy horse? Meet Peyo, the 15-year-old stallion (公马) who spends his days doing the rounds at Calais Hospital in France. He helps offer comfort to cancer patients and their families.
Peyo used to train for equestrian (马术的) shows. One day, his owner, Bouchakour, happened to find that his horse had a different, more unique ability. After shows, Peyo would pick people out of the crowd and remain close to them.
Bouchakour later realized that his horse was born with the ability to choose people that were sick. The trainer soon gave up his career as a sportsman. He decided to use Peyo’s special ability to bring peace and comfort to those who most needed it.
The horse has been a volunteer at Calais Hospital since 2016. It is popular with everyone at the hospital, but he’s especially useful when patients are nearing the end of their lives. Having Peyo by their side brings the patients joy in their final moments and helps them have a more peaceful passing. And in some cases, this can reduce their pain so greatly that they no longer require the use of strong drugs.
Since beginning his career as a therapy horse, Peyo has made this end-of-life period less painful for more than 1,000 patients. Not only does Peyo help the sick, but he’s also a true friend to his trainer. “Peyo is my other half. He is my life partner.” Bouchakour says.
