Young British people are choosing online distractions like YouTube videos, Netflix, and Facebook videos rather than switch on a TV and watch a news programme. They especially like watching YouTube videos. Britain’s Guardian newspaper reported that the average 16~24-year-olds in Britain watch just two minutes’ worth of live TV news per day. Ofcom suggested presenting news stories in a less complicated, more accessible way to attract young people’s attention.
