I dn’t remember being rdered t hug peple when I was a child, but I remember being made t hld hands. It’s nt a big deal. And f curse it’s unavidable fr safety, but I remember disliking it. In the past, hugs were als smething yu culdn’t refuse. Again, it didn’t seem like a big deal at the time. There were circumstances(境况) in which it was plite t ffer a hug r accept ne. If yu didn’t enjy this, it was t bad.
Hwever, this isn’t the case nw.These days there’s smething called bdily autnmy(身体自治权), which I knw abut thanks t a vide. Nw, I’ve learned that hugs are the subject f a small but fierce debate abut parenting.
Kids hug each ther. And smetimes, they knck each ther dwn. Several years ag, a friend’s tw-year-ld was sent hme frm a day care center with a nte pinting ut that he had hugged a friend and that the friend felt “uncmfrtable”. My friend and I laughed, thinking the ther mther was verreacting. That’s what I used t think.
There was a kid wh hugged my kid and she didn’t like it. This happened several times. He asked t give her a kiss and she rudely said n. A cmplaint came in frm the kid’s parent that her rudeness had hurt his feelings. And I made it clear that my daughter wasn’t put n this Earth t cmfrt her needy sn. She was prtecting her sn’s feelings and I was prtecting my daughter’s. I learned that this wasn’t an verreactin.
But it struck hme mre deeply than I might have expected. I shwed my daughter the vide abut bdily autnmy(身体自治权). It was a cartn mvie shwing kids hw t plitely decline unwanted physical cntact. A lt f parenting culture is fussy(大惊小怪的), but this felt different: a new way f scializing ---- particularly girl children ---- t expand the range f what they can plitely refuse. I was satisfied with hw great it felt.
    21. What did the authr use t think f children’s being given hugs?
    A. Guilty
    22. What will the authr nw cnsider first when it cmes t kids’ hugging?
A.Her rle in wn child’s feelings.
    C.Parents’ scial between children.
23.What can children mainly learn frm the vide accrding t the authr?
A.One shuld treat thers culture is updated.
C.One has the right t say cntact is harmful.

On July 1, 1979, Sny launched the blue and silver Walkman TPS-L2 in Japan and sld it fr arund 33, 000 yen, rughly $150 at the time. A year later, it came t the U.S. While sme peple wh predicted this expensive device wuldn't sell because it didn't recrd, that first Walkman became a huge hit.50,000 devices were sld in tw mnths. But mre than that, it changed the way peple listened t music.
“The Walkman did a cuple f things in ne,” tech histrian Stewart Wlpin says. “It was s much easier t carry than previus tape-based prtables. And mre imprtantly, it came with stere headphnes designed fr music. The music sunded like yu'd brught yur hme stere with yu, and it was yurs and yurs nly. The headphne stere phenmena defined (定义) the free, sme wuld say selfish,‘Me’ generatin f the 1980s. ”
Thrugh the years, Sny had brught ut many versins f the Walkman: prtable CD mdels, “gum-stick”versins with a rechargeable battery and mdels that supprted “metal” tapes.Sny eventually went with mdels that culd handle MP3s as well, but it was late t the game.In the new century, the cmpany relinquished the prtable music thrne(宝座) t Apple's iPd and iTunes.
Lking back,Sny kept the electrnics business separate frm the recrding and film divisins.”This kept Sny frm building an iTunes/iPd-like cmplete music player/music stre slutin.” Wlpin says. “Sny wuld have been the nly cmpetitr t Apple.” On its 40th anniversary, the Walkman is a faded brand, but ne that still brings back mstly fnd memries t a certain generatin.
Why did Sny hld the meeting in early 1979?
    A. T shw hw t use its new prduct.
