Let’s start by lking at the emtinal r mental health benefits f expressing gratitude. There have been many studies, as described in a 2018 paper frm the Greater Gd Science Center titled ‘The Science f Gratitude’, shwing that writing a gratitude letter t anther persn r writing in a gratitude jurnal, if dne regularly, imprves mental health. One reasn fr this is that gratitude stps us frm rethinking n unpleasure, negative emtins, and writing a ‘thank yu’ letter, fr example, shifts ur attentin s that we fcus n psitive emtins. But even if we dn’t share ur writing with anyne, like in a jurnal, the act f cmpleting the exercise alne makes us happier and mre satisfied with life. And this gets better with time. And s, the mre we express gratitude, the mre psitive we feel.
