在主从复合句中充当宾语的句子称为宾语从句。
that引导的宾语从句
that无任何词义,只起连接作用,在非正式文体中可以省略
2) I believe that April is the httest mnth in Thailand.

主语+谓语动词+that引导的宾语从句
1. that引导的宾语从句的结构
*主句的谓语动词是knw, believe, think, hpe, tell, say, understand, reprt, wish, prmise, see, expect, explain, feel, hear, imagine, prefer, warn等时,常接 that 引导的宾语从句。
3) Bill thinks that the bk is interesting.
1) I’m afraid (that) he can’t cme. 恐怕他不能来了。2) I’m s pleased that yu will cme tmrrw. 我很高兴明天你来。
*主句为由“连系动词+形容词”构成的“系表”结构,常接that引导的宾语从句。这类形容词多表示感情,如happy, glad, pleased, sad, sure, afraid等等。
* think, believe, suppse, guess等动词作主句的谓语,且主句的主语是第一人称 I 或we时,宾语从句的否定词nt习惯上要转移到主句中,即“否定转移”。

* 有些宾语从句不能省略that:如果谓语动词后跟有两个或更多个并列的宾语从句,第二个及以后的that都不可以省略。2) 主语中有it作形式宾语,that不可省。
1) He said (that) the bk was very interesting and that (不省略) all the children liked t read it.
2) I think it necessary that he shuld stay here.
他说这本书是非常有趣的,所有的孩子都喜欢看。
我认为他有必要留在这里。
不论什么情况下,宾语从句都要用陈述语序,即“主语+谓语+其他”。

1) He says (that) they have returned already. 他说他们已经回来了。 2) He tells me that he was brn in 1985. 他告诉我他生于1985年。
that引导的宾语从句,当主句是现在时态时,从句可以根据实际情况采用任何时态。
1) He said (that) he bught a new dictinary. 他说他买了本新词典。 2) I knew they were studying English. 我知道他们正在学英语。
如果主句用过去时态,从句要用过去时态的某种形式(一般过去时,过去进行时,过去将来时,过去完成时)。
1) Our teacher tld us that light travels faster than sund. 我们老师告诉我们,光比声音传播得快。2) He said that time is life. 他说时间就是生命。
如果从句表达的是客观事实、真理、自然现象、名言、警句、格言、谚语等等,尽管主句用过去时态,从句也要用一般现在时。
