    Step I Leading- in
    In the last few lessns,we’ve learned sme great inventins. Such as cmputer, TV, car, camera and s n. Tday we’ll knw anther great inventin, it is called basketball.Ask the students t talk abut the basketball .

    Can yu recgnize these famus basketball players?
    Step II Skimming
    Lk thugh the passage quickly within ne minute, try t match the main idea f each paragraph .
    Para 1 : The histry f the basketball.
    Para 2 : The backgrund (Wh invented it and hw was it invented?)
    Para 3 : The ppularity.
    Step III Task-reading
    Read the passage carefully t finish the tasks ne by ne.
    1.Task1 Read Para 1,cmplete the mind map.
    2.Task2 Read Para 2 and fill in the frm, then state rules f basketball accrding t clues.
    3.Task3 Listen t Para 3 and find the answers t the questins.
    4.Task4 Scan para 3 , and cmplete the mind map.
    5.Task5 Translate the fllwing sentences int Chinese.
    Step IV After-reading
    1.Fill in the blanks and make sure t be able t retell hw t play basketball.
    2.Accrding t the mind map ,try t retell the whle text.
    3.Present the key phrases in this lessn and learn them by heart..
    Step V Summary
    we’ve knwn when basketball was invented.If we have time, we shuld enjy such a useful inventin. Because enjying sprts is enjying life.
