The flat has a separate kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom, which are convenient for life. The rent is 800 yuan per month. If you would like to rent it, you need to book in advance, because this kind of flat is always in great demand.Yours,Li Hua(二)读后续写I heard my voice quiver, and my tears shone like the sun. I struggled to hold back my tears but in vain. Gently, I leaned over, held him in my arms and thanked him for picking the very best one. "You're welcome," the boy gave me a big smile and said. Then he ran off to play, unaware of the impact he'd had on me. I sat there and wondered how he managed to see a self-pitying woman beneath an old tree. Perhaps from his heart, he'd been blessed with true sight. Through the eyes of the blind boy, at last I could see, the problem was not with the world; the problem was me. And for all of those times I myself had been blind. At that moment I vowed in my heart to see beauty and appreciate every second that's mine. Then I held the flower up to my nose and breathed its fragrance and smiled as that young boy. (140 words)听力原文Text 1W: Who was that man you were talking to? You shouldn’t talk to people you don’t know.M: He wasn’t a stranger, Mom. That’s Lacy’s dad. I’m pretty sure you’ve met him before. He was giving me an invitation to Lacy’s surprise birthday party next week. (1)Text 2M: When my parents gave Spot to me as my birthday gift, I wasn’t so sure. I’ve never owned a dog before and I thought it might not work out. But he’s part of the family now.W: He’s a big dog, but he’s kind. Spot really knows how to play softly with the kids. (2)Text 3W: Oh, that suits you. Is the coat new as well?M: No, I’ve had it for a while. But I went out to buy some shoes and ended up getting this shirt. (3)W: Well, it’s really nice. I like it.Text 4M: Let me do that. You must get some rest. New mothers need to take it easy.W: I’m not sick, you know, and the doctor said I should stay active.M: You’ll get all the exercise you need when that little one starts walking around. (4)Text 5 W: I don’t know if I feel comfortable going anywhere tonight. Call up your parents and ask them to reschedule.M: It doesn’t look that bad outside, though.W: The weather reporter made it seem like this storm is going to be dangerous. (5)Text 6M: Hello, it’s Tony Jones. I’m ringing to ask if I could have some more of my usual medicine. (6)W: Ah yes, Mr. Jones. That’s the liquid medicine, isn’t it? (6)M: Well, it has been so far, (6) but I was wondering if they do it in tablet form.W: Hmm, I’ll just check. I know they do a cream, but I’m not sure about tablets. Isnt your foot feeling any better? (7)M: Slightly, (7) but it still hurts if I touch it with my hand.W: Well, keep an eye on it and if it doesn’t improve, let me know. And yes, there are tablets you can have.Text 7 W: No sign of it yet?M: Five o’clock? No, it’s far too early. We’ve only been here for an hour. (8) It will be another hour at least.W: Then why did we come so early? I could have eaten dinner at home.M: Because the bird has to get used to our presence. It is an extremely shy creature and if it suspects that we are up to no good, it will fly away. (9)W: Do you think we will see it? They are very rare. (9)M: Well, if we’re going to see it somewhere, it will be here. (9) So get your camera ready.W: I’m glad I changed into my warmer clothes. It’s quite cool here.M: Yes. Pass me a sandwich. I need some fuel. Text 8 M: Well, hello again. Long time no see. (10) (12)W: Yes, it has been a long time, hasn’t it? (10) The Cairo conference was in 2018, wasn’t it? (12)M: 2017 actually. (10)W: Good grief, so long ago?M: To be fair, we do see quite a lot of each other online.W: Yes, that’s the beauty of technology in 2020 — wherever you are in the world, you can still keep in touch.M: How was your flight? At least it was on time. (11)W: It was fine. Clear skies all the way from London to New York. (11)M: Great. Well, I have a car waiting for us. Which hotel are you staying at?W: I’m going to stay with my sister actually. She has an apartment here. She’s going to be my sightseeing guide.M: Oh, very nice. Killing two birds with one stone, eh? Well, our sales meeting is tomorrow morning, so after that you should have plenty of time to look around. (12)W: Yes, I want to do the whole tourist thing and see the Statue of Liberty from a boat.Text 9 (16题为总结题)W: Finally, what took you so long?M: Man, getting here was really tough. Driving in this weather was a bad idea. (13)W: Why? It’s a new road and should be fine in the rain. They just laid the concrete for it a year ago. I remember all the road workers being busy over there for ages.M: It was because the fog was so thick. (13) I drove so slowly the whole way.W: That was probably a good idea. The weather around this area has never been very predictable. Because we live in between these big mountains, the wind quickly brings all the crazy ocean weather to us. (14)M: Is the beach like an hour away though?W: Yes, but the wind travels fast. There’s nothing in the way to block or break up certain types of weather, and the mountains act like a pipe that directs it right towards us.M: That’s interesting. I suppose the storms would also leave quickly as well then.W: Usually, but then they leave behind fog like this sometimes, too. The whole town seems to disappear. Honestly, in recent years, the weather has been fine. We havent gotten any of the recent tropical storms. There was only one lightning storm last year. (15)M: Has there ever been an earthquake? W: No. And I am thankful for that. I’d be so scared. I can’t imagine if there were falling rocks or a mudslide(泥石流) off the mountains.Text 10Sydney is Australia’s largest city. It is most known for its unforgettable and immediately recognizable Opera House. (17) However, Sydney has become the star of the news recently after announcing a big change to its city. At the cost of 60 million Australian dollars, downtown Sydney is now fully powered by solar energy. (18) The change is expected to clean the city of 20,000 tons of pollution by 2024. This new prediction brings their original goal closer by several years! Sydney Mayor, Clover Moore, gave a powerful speech at the first announcement of the plan. Her message to the leaders of the world’s cities was that it’s their responsibility. Cities are responsible for 70% of gas pollution in the world. By taking action and changing their methods, we will not have to worry about the damage to our climates. (19) She also said that we live in an age of exciting discoveries in technology and science. Too many people are ignoring facts because they do not wish to change. Clover showed how proud of her city she was during the announcement. (20) She said that Sydney is not trying to claim to be the best city in the world, but that it would do the best that it could. Many other Australian cities are looking at following the example made by their fellows. Soon, Australia may be entirely powered by natural energy.
