    I never thught I was very talented at anything t d with music, but my parents wanted me t learn t play the pian at the age f six. T be a gd daughter, I agreed t learn even thugh I wasn't interested in it at all. Experienced in reading her students' minds, my pian teacher culd tell after a cuple f lessns that my heart was nt in it.
    Hwever, after learning fr abut six mnths, I was asked t perfrm smething at the year-end cncert arranged by my teacher. Surprised and terrified at the same time, I culd nly agree. Given my inexperience, I chse a fairly simple cmpsitin. In rder t perfrm well, I practised the same cmpsitin fr an hur a day fr the next tw mnths. On the day f the cncert, I was s nervus that I wke up with butterflies in my stmach.
    As it turned ut, there was n need t be nervus because all my hard wrk paid ff and I played perfectly. Encuraged by this first perfrmance and the psitive reactin f the audience, I have cntinued t play the pian and enjy it mre every day.

    Ludwig van Beethven
    Ludwig van Beethven (1770-1827) was brn in Germany. He started his musical training when he was five years ld, and his teachers wrked him s hard that he ften cried. He started writing music when he was nineteen, and tw years later he mved t Vienna t study music and perfrm. Beethven first became famus as a pianist. Hwever, by 1800, his musical wrks were s ppular that he was thught f by many as the mst imprtant cmpser f his generatin.
    During this same perid, he slwly became deaf. Even thugh he culd nt hear with his ears, he culd still write music because he culd hear music in his head. Mst f his greatest musical wrks were cmpleted after he became deaf. In the later part f his life, he had many health and mney issues. He was als lnely because the wman he lved and wanted t marry had left him. His friends tried t help him thrugh his dark times, but his life became marked by sadness. He died after a lng illness in 1827.
