Gina is taking action for women all over the world to show the importance of women. Gina shared, “I will ride my old bike and carry my luggage, which weighs over 30 kg. I have previously travelled by bicycle around Europe, so it won't be my first long cycle journey, but it will certainly be my last one.”Gina Harris, a former photographer, took up cycling at 50 and joined the Cycling UK to follow her passion for charities. Alan Head, former Secretary of the Cycling UK commented, “Gina Harris has cycled with the Cycling UK for many years. We wish her all the best in her attempt to raise money for women by cycling. According to a new study, the famous forest is exhibiting signs of poor health that could mean large portions of it will become savannah(稀树草原)in the near future.“The Amazon is a custodian (监护人) of biodiversity and possesses a vital ability to pull in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, so it is clearly worrying that its health is deteriorating,” Richard Allan, a climate scientist, says in a statement to the Science Media Centre(SMC).To measure the massive forests resilience(复原力),researchers analyzed satellite data to determine the biomass and greenness of the forest from 1991-2006, looking for month-to-month changes in response to weather conditions. More than three quarters of the forest exhibited has reduced resilience since 2000, with trees taking longer to recover from stresses like droughts and fires. The most obvious resilience loss occurred in areas with less rainfall and those geographically nearer to human activity, the researchers report. The paper's conclusion is similar to that of previous modeling studies, but experts say the new study is stronger because it's based on real-world data. Chantelle Burton, a climate scientist, tells the SMC. “What this study does is offer some observational-based evidence for what is already happening to this significant carbon sink, and shows that human land use and changes to weather and climate patterns are already driving an important change in the system.” “Passing a tipping point of this kind would make it even more difficult to achieve our goal of zero emissions globally because of the loss of the 'free service' provided by the Amazon carbon sink which currently removes some of our emissions,” Chantelle Burton adds.28.What does the new study reveal about the Amazon rainforest?A.Its trees have almost disappeared.B.Its resilience is becoming weaker.C.Its biodiversity keeps increasing.D.Its ability to store CO2 is lost.29.What does the underlined word “deteriorating” in paragraph 2 mean?A.Recovering.    B.Resisting.C.Declining.    D.Maintaining.30.How was the new study carried out?A.By using existing data from satellites.B.By basing prediction on models.C.By monitoring weather conditions.D.By reviewing previous studies.31.What's the purpose of the text?A.To explain a phenomenon.B.To report the climate change.C.To introduce the Amazon rainforest.D. To attract people's attention to protecting forests.DThe US space agency NASA has revealed an astonishing picture revealing new secrets of the Earths home galaxy(星系),the Milky Way. The sun is just one of hundreds of billions of stars that form the huge shape of our galaxy. Our solar system sits in an outlying region but the new image focuses on the center of the Milky Way, a “noisy” area because of all the crowded stars. Light from this region takes about 26, 000 years to reach Earth. For comparison, light takes just eight minutes to reach us from the sun.The researchers use the data collected by two telescopes that see the sky in ways that are very different from the visible light our eyes can see to form the new image. Most of the data comes from 370 different pictures taken over the past 20 years by NASA's Chandra XObservatory. This satellite telescope detects X-rays out in space. X-rays are a form of radiation  that is sent out when violent events heat matter to temperatures of millions of degrees. Other data comes from the MeerKAT telescope in South Africa, which can detect radio waves from space. These waves have much less energy than X-rays. They are usually produced by cooler material, such as huge clouds of gas between the stars. The brightest sources include neutron stars which are the cores of huge stars that ran out of fuel and collapsed to city-sized balls of super hot matter. Many neutron stars and black holes jet(喷射) out gases that appear in the picture as purple streaks(斑纹).Powerful magnetic  fields in the area cause the jets to bend as they get further from their source. Astronomer Dr Daniel Wang, who has worked on the image over the past year, said the new picture de-scribed “a violent or energetic ecosystem”.32.What can be learned about the Milky Way?A.The center of it remains unknown.B.The sun isn't located in the center of it.C.Its center is very peaceful.D.Its center features fewer stars.33.What's paragraph 2 mainly about?A.The collection of space data.B.The function of the MeerKAT telescope.C.The differences of space waves.D.The formation of the new image.34.What can we know about the gases jetted out by the black hole?A.They will absorb surrounding materials.B.They will form super big matter.C.They get bent if away from their source.D. They are likely to explode when superheated.35.What may be the best title for the text?A.Our galaxy's violent heartB. An attempt to travel in outer spaceC.Radio waves from outer spaceD. Stars' purple streaks第二节(共5小题;每小2分,满分10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。The social responsibility of corporations is an ethical (道德的) framework in which corporations are responsible for fulfilling their duty and taking actions that will benefit society as a whole.
