The team was called to play a game in a hall. They were quite surprised. As they entered the hall, they found the hall decorated with colourful papers and balloons all over the place. It was more like a kid's play area, than a meeting hall. Also, there was a huge box of balloons placed in the hall.
The team leader asked everyone to pick a balloon from the box and asked them to blow it. Every one happily picked a balloon and blew it.
Then the team leader asked them to write their names on their balloon carefully so that the balloons didn't blow up. All tried to write their names on the balloons, but not everyone was successful. A few balloons blew up because of pressure (压力) and they were given another chance to use another balloon.
Those who failed to mark their names even after the second chance were ruled out of the game. After the second chance, 25 were left to move on to the next level. All the balloons were collected and then put into a room.
The team leader announced the members to go to the room and pick the same balloon that had his name on it. Also, he told them that no balloon should blow up and warned them to be very careful!
All 25 members reached the room, where the balloons carrying their names were thrown here and there. They were searching for the balloons carrying their names. While they were in a rush to find the balloons, they tried not to burst them. It was almost 15 minutes and no one was able to find the balloon carrying his own name.
The team was told that the second level of the game was over.
Now it is the third and final level. They were asked to pick any balloon in the room and give it to the person named on the balloon. Within a couple of minutes all balloons reached the hands of each person.

C
Right now, for a short period of time, the Earth has two moons. One moon is the one you know. The other is a tiny car-sized moon that showed up in the last few years and could leave within tile next month.
In mid-February, two scientists at the Catalina Sky Survey noticed a moving dot on their computer screens. That seemed unusual, because most of the stars on their screens appear to stay in one position.
At first, scientists wondered if it was a human-made object, like part of a rocket. But after more measurements, it seems clear that the object is a asteroid(小行星)—a chunk of rock floating in space.
There are many asteroids in space, but most of those in our solar system are orbiting(环绕)the Sun. The object the scientists had noticed was orbiting the Earth. The asteroid had been orbiting the Sun, but it passed too close to the Earth and was pulled in by the Earth's gravity.
The object has been given the name "2020 CD3". When we think of a moon, we most likely think of the Earth's moon. But the word "moon" can actually mean any body that goes around a planet. That makes 2020 CD3 a moon of the Earth.
Or perhaps a mini-moon. Scientists say 2020 CD3 is probably only about 6-12 feet (2-3.5 meters) wide when measured through the middle.
What's very clear is that 2020- CD3 is not a very stable moon. It appears to have been drawn in by the Earth's gravity about three years ago, and has since followed a very unusual path.
The Earth's main moon has a very stable orbit around the Earth. The orbit taken by 2020 CD3, on the other hand, circles around wildly.
This isn't the first time the Earth has load a mini-moon. In 2006, there was also an asteroid caught by the Earth's gravity. It was named 2006 RH120, and it only stayed around for about a year.
2020 CD3 will not probably remain under the power of Earth's gravity for long. Scientists think that the mini-moon will leave by April.
But for now, the Earth has two moons.
( )51. How did 2020 CD3 become a moon of the Earth?
A. It appeared on the computer screens. B. It was sent up into space by human.
C. It was caught by the Earth's gravity. D. It orbited the Sun in an unusual way.
( )52. Which of the following best explains the underlined part in paragraph 7?
A. 2020 CD3 is a large piece of rock floating in space.
B. 2020 CD3 can't stay in one position for a long time.
C. 2020 CD3 travels too close to the Earth when orbiting the Sun.
D. 2020 CD3 has always changed its path since becoming a moon.
( )53. What is the best title for the passage?
A. The Earth Has a New Moon For Now B. The Research On the Moon 2020 CD3
C. Two Moons For the Earth From Now On D. The Earth Needs the Mini-moon For Long

One day, three of my friends came to our house.
They told me they wanted to go to Africa. They
asked me if I wanted to go with them. I said, "Yes, I
want to go with you."
We started to prepare all the necessary things for the journey. Soon we were ready to go. I said goodbye to my wife and we started our journey. Our plan was to be back in two months.
We left Brazil on the first of September, 1655. Our ship was very big but we were only seventeen men. The ship was full of things for business. We had cups, glass, mirrors, knives and other products.
At the beginning of our journey the weather was very good, but very hot. In one week, a hurricane(飓风)came and it was threatening our ship for the next twelve days. After the hurricane passed, we saw we went quite far from our original(原来的)journey and were instead close to the northern part of Brazil near the Orinoco River. The ship was badly damaged, so we could no longer go to Africa.
The captain wanted us to go back and repair the ship, but I strongly disagreed with him. We went over the maps and decided the best thing to do was to go to Barbados and repair the ship there.
When we started this short trip, a second hurricane came. The next morning one of the sailors cried out, "Land?" and at that moment the ship stopped in shallow(浅的)water. We expected the ship to break apart at any moment because of the strong wind, so we all got into the small boat the ship carried. This was very dangerous because the seventeen of us were crowded in the boat, and it had no sail.
The waves were very big. The wind was extremely strong. The wind pushed us to big rocks. We knew the crash was close.
Suddenly, a huge wave appeared and overturned the boat. I was covered with water and couldn't breathe. I couldn't see the others or the boat. But I saw a little beach between the rocks.
Another wave carried me to the beach. I tried to get up. I tried to go further from the sea. I was able to move ten metres up. I was safe. But my arms and legs were very weak. I fell down and I was lying on the beach.

( )55. What did they do after the first hurricane passed?
A. They had to go back to the place where they started.
B. They studied the map and found a new way to Africa.
C. They headed for the nearest place to repair their ship..
D. They lost their way on the sea and gave up their ship.
( )56. Which is NOT the reason for the boat becoming dangerous?
A. Shallow water. B. No sail. C. Crowded men. D. Big waves.
( )57. Which of the following shows the right order of the event?
① The ship changed the direction after the hurricane. ② All the men escaped to the boat but it turned over.
③ The writer was washed up on the beach by a wave. ④The ship left Brazil with seventeen men on board.

Why do some people seem to be naturally happier than others?
Researchers from the University of Edinburgh have known the answer according to their recent study. Nine hundred twins took part in the study and had their happiness levels measured. The result shows that our genes(基因), in fact, control half of the personality traits(特点) that make us happy. And the other half is linked with lifestyles, careers and relationships. That is to say, individual differences in happiness are based on genetic differences between people.
"All human beings naturally desire happiness. We have found that happiness is partly rooted in genes," said Dr Alexander Weiss, the leader of the research. "This study is both a milestone and a new beginning: A milestone because we are now sure that there is a genetic side of happiness and a new beginning because the happy genes have just been found."
However, the researchers warn that genes are not the whole story. The environment can also affect our happiness levels. In fact, a great deal of our happiness is directly connected with whatever is happening in our lives. Thus finding the right matters affecting us is the correct thing.
To become truly happy, we need to understand our important needs perfectly for if we fail to satisfy our needs, then unhappiness might happen. Besides, doing simple things, such as keeping a journal and writing down three things that we are thankful for every day, can increase our long-term happiness. Will you try it tonight?
88. What plays the most important role in making us happy?

So, I am very grateful to them. They helped me a lot! I also got on well with my classmates. We shared happiness and sadness together. We were like a big family.
