1. To know how to learn English well and know some rules used in English class

2. In this first lesson, students learn how to make an introduction.

养良好的人际交流态度，交流时要尊重对方的习惯，令对方感觉舒服。

掌握在作自我介绍时英美人士与中国人的不同对答习惯.

5.   学习策略：

1.通过认真准备,争取更多的发言和相互交流的机会.

Step 1: Warming up

2.Ss ask teacher,then in pairs do Self-introduction.

   What's your name?  Where are you from?

   How old are you?   Which class are you in?

   Nice to meet you.

（设计说明：从自己入手，先让学生了解老师开始，拉近学生的距离。）

Step 2: Listening

1. Listen and check (√) the number of speakers.
2. Listen again and number the words you hear.
3. Check the answers with the whole students and introduce the 5 people in the conversation.

（设计说明：听力是初中学生英语语言的一个必备能力。）

Step 3: Listen and read

1. (1) How many people speak in the conversation?

  (2) Who are they?

  (3) Are they in the same class?

2.Listen again and fill in the blank

4. Fill in.

Lingling is from _______ and she is _______.

Betty is from _______ and she is _______.

Tony is from _______ and he is _______.

Ask someone to check the answers.

Step4: Listening and Imitation

Divide students find the long sentences with “and”in the passage.

Students to imitate each sentences, pay attention to the tones and stresses.

（设计说明：第一次大对话模音，需要手把手教他们标调，养成模音的习惯。我自己的书本上全部标满了语言语调，为省时，直接拍照给学生参考。）

Step 5: Guess

Show some the four students (Daming Lingling Betty and Tony )

Students try to guess:

-Is he from ...? Is he ...?     -Yes，he is./No, he isn't.

-Is she from...? Is she ...?    -Yes，she is./No, she isn't.

Report:

He is ...years old.  He is from... and he is....   He is a/an...

（设计说明：利用以上一般疑问句，进一步熟悉文本和四位教材主角。）

Step6: Listen and choose:

当其他同学在介绍时，请你注意听，并找到他介绍的那张名片。

（设计说明：介入明星，学以致用，拓展激趣, 激发学生的竞争意识）

Step7: Work in groups

Try to introduce yourself to your group mates, and every group tries to choose the best one to show in class. 小组活动，向组内同学介绍你自己，并选出最好的一则自我介绍上台展示。

T:Our library needs a librarian, do you want to try?

Step 8: Summary

Students summarize what we have learnt today. （on Blackboard）
