Facial expressions 21 meaning that is determined by situations and relationships. For example in American culture the smile is 22 an expression of pleasure. Yet it also has other uses. A woman’s smile at a police officer does not have the same meaning as the smile she gives to a young child. A smile may show love or politeness. It can also 23 true feelings. It often causes 24 across cultures. For example, many people in Russia 25 smiling at strangers in public to be 26 and even improper. Yet many Americans smile freely at strangers in public places (although this is less common in big cities). Some Russians believe that Americans smile in the 27 places; some Americans believe that Russians don’t smile enough. In Southeast Asian cultures, a smile is frequently used to 28 painful feelings. 29 people may tell a sad story but end the story with a smile.
Our 30 show emotions (情感), but we should not 31 to “read” people from another culture as we would “read” someone from our own culture. The 32 that members of one culture do not express their emotions as openly as members of another do does not mean that they do not 33 emotions.
34 , there are cultural differences in the amount of facial expressions permitted. For example, in public and in 35 situations many Japanese do not show their emotions as freely as Americans do. When with friends, Japanese and Americans seem to show their emotions 36 .
It is 37 to generalize about Americans and facial expressiveness 38 personal and cultural differences in the United States. People from certain cultural backgrounds in the United States seem to be more 39 expressive than others. The key is to try not to judge people whose ways of showing emotions are different. If we judge according to our own cultural habits, we may make the 40 of “reading” the other person incorrectly.

However, just before my 50th birthday, I 25 French classes. After I was tested to see which group I belonged to, I was placed at almost the introductory 26 . When I looked around at my first class, I was 27 that many of the students were learning French as a third, fourth or even fifth language.
Contrary to my 28 that learning a new language was impossibly difficult, there were people who learned new languages as a matter of course. While I had always thought of myself as a 29 learner, that was no longer the case. I've been taught by 36 and inspirational teachers from many comers of the world. I've learned that a language is not just a set of words, but a way of 39 . But most of all, I've learned that it is never too 40 to learn something new.

As the time was 24 ,I just learnt to apply techniques without going into the mathematical rationale(原理)。As a result,I didn't complete the task in an efficient way and 25 lots of time.
Through this project,I got a good 26 of the importance of studying the basic knowledge. I will probably 27 to spend more time studying the theory before I 28 another project. By learning their underlying mechanisms(机制),I will be able to 29 the tools to suit my own needs. In this way,1 may achieve 30 results.
Another challenge I met was about the brightness setting. When I sketched(勾勒)the 31 of the cell by the computer,I first set the brightness value to 50, 32 that the computer could delete the dark places and extract the shape of the cell 33 . But it turned out that the standard didn't fit for every image. So 1 34 the brightness value to 30,but that didn't 35 either. It was very hard to find a value that worked for all 36
From this,I began to appreciate human eyes. Our eyes 37 the amount of light entering them automatically through a feedback system to achieve the best image representation, but computers are not that 38 . There is still so much that we don't know about the human body.
In summary,I think it is good for students to be involved in real projects 39 they can begin to learn about various fundamental 40 and get themselves ready for the future.
