设计说明 本课时学习与生活中的发明相关的写作。教学时先从复习重点单词和短语入手,导入新课,然后讨论生活中遇到困难的事怎样解决,怎样推销新产品等,为写作做好铺垫,帮助学生完成写作任务。通过Self Check的练习,进一步巩固本单元中的重要句型。 教学目标 通过本课时的学习,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标: (1)单词:nearly (2)短语:decide on, come up with (3)句子:①This is because sometimes a few people may invent things which are nearly the same. ②It’s hard to tell who came up with the idea first. 2. 能力目标: (1)熟练掌握被动语态的用法; (2)学会使用被动语态介绍某项发明。 3. 情感目标: 培养学生热爱科学、勇于探索的精神。 重点难点 1. 重点:(1)用英语介绍某一项发明; (2)一般过去时的被动语态。 2. 难点:写一篇介绍某一项发明的文章。 教学准备 PPT课件 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Review some of the important expressions. 1. 把……分成…… divide …into… 2. 阻止某人做某事 stop sb. from doing sth. 3. 钦佩;仰慕 look up to 4. 鼓励某人做某事 encourage sb. to do sth. 5. 实现某人的梦想 achieve one’s dream Discussion: Have you ever come across any difficulties in your daily life? I am not able to take notes quickly in class. It’s very hard for me to get up early. I’m worried about my everyday homework. Can we invent something new to solve those difficulties? Step 2 Writing Work on 3a. Think of something that you do not like to do. Then think of an invention that could help you. Make notes. Problem: quickly taking notes in class New invention: a special pen What it is used for: taking notes for me It can take notes automatically. Problem: getting up early New invention: a special clock What it is used for: waking me up It can call me up with the voice of my teacher. Problem: doing homework New invention: a robot What it is used for: doing homework with me It can be my favorite homework partner. Work on 3b. Imagine you are a business person. Write a description of your new invention. Try to sell the invention to the class. This special pen was invented by Liu Jie. It has three colors and is used for… Sample: This special pen was invented by Liu Jie. It has three colors and is used for taking notes quickly. It is very useful if you have a lot to write down. The pen comes with a microchip that can store a list of common words that you will use. You can program the words you will use often into the microchip’s memory, then assign a short form to each word. When you are writing, you just need to write the short forms with the pen, press a button on the pen and all the short forms will change into the actual words. The microchip can contain up to 50 words and you can make changes to the list of words whenever you need to. Step 3 Play a game 谁的发明最畅销? 将有6位同学扮演“推销商”上台向同学们“推销”自己的发明,台下的每位同学都有一票选择权,得票最多的“推销商”获胜。 (注:在“推销”发明时需全程使用英语) Summary 我们在推销一件产品的时候,通常会从哪几个方面去描述呢? What is the invention? Who invented it?
