Do you intend to stay in China for long? 你打算在中国待很长时间吗？(1) intend to do sth.表示“打算做某事”。She intended to save money to buy a car.她打算攒钱买一辆汽车。 (2) for long相当于for a long time, 表示“很长时间”。I have been here for long.我在这里很长时间了。 2. Let’s fetch something to eat. 咱们去取些吃的东西吧。 fetch 动词，意为“(去)拿来”。Dad asked me to fetch him a newspaper.爸爸要求我去给他拿一份报纸。 辨析：fetch, take, bring 与 carry这四个词都可以表示“拿；带”。其区别是：① bring 表示“拿来；带来”, 指从别处拿过来; ② take 表示“拿走；带走”, 指从此处拿到别处去； ③ fetch表示“(去) 拿来”，包括一个往返的过程; ④ carry 不强调方向，表示“携带、背着、运送、搬扛”等意思。3.
