      本课的阅读篇具有说明些特征在做读前活动时让学生分组利用2a提供的些词汇自己组织语言说说大熊猫2b的阅读活动做好话题准备2b2c要求学生用寻读法完成任务首先要求学生快速寻读2b找出数分别对应的内容再引导学生用完整的句子表达这些数的含义然后让学生阅读2c的五个问题在充分理解问题的基础分段快速寻读找出关键信息并在问题后写出简略答语2d要求学生仔细阅读2b尽可能记住章的细节再用的语言将2d的句子补充完整朗读并核对答案步巩固所学内容学生在仔细阅读的时候会遇到些理解的问题因此要对些知识点或难点进行讲解为了帮助学生深入地理解让学生再次阅读可以边读边完成框架图然后鼓励学生用自己的语言复述课文。2e是在学生深入理解章的基础上,导入保护大熊猫的话题让学生进行分组讨论后展示达到语言输出的同时提高保护动物的意识

      Step 1 Warming up

    0. 1-0. 2 kilos 15 cm 20-30 years

      Show the picture to students. Have students talk about the baby panda.

      Step 2 Presentation

      1. Teach the new wordsbambooendangeredresearchkeeperawakeexcitementillnesswildgovernment.

      For example

      TWhat do they eat?

      S1Bamboo.

      TWhere are they from?

      S2Sichuan.

      TWhere do they live?

      S3In zoos or forests.

      TWhat are they look like?

      SsThey are cute.

      TWhy should we protect them?

      S4Because they are in great danger.

      2. Practice reading the new words and check them.

      Step 3 Group work

      Divide the class into groups of four. Tell students that they will take turns to tell a story about pandas. Each student in the group picks three words or phrases from the list and will be responsible for using those three words or phrases to form sentences about pandas in their story-telling.

      For example

      S1There was a family of pandas living in a forest.

      S2The father and the mother were black and white.

      S3...

      Step 4 Reading

      1. Read the passage quickly and match each paragraph with the main idea.

     

      2. Please scan the passage and find out what these numbers mean.

      1Write these numbers 10123002000 on the blackboard. Then have students underline all the numbers in words and numeralsthat they see in the passage.

      2Have students focus on the four numbers given in the instructions and tell what these four numbers represent.

      3Have students use complete sentences to describe what the numbers mean.

      2000Scientists say there are now fewer than 2000 pandas living in the forests.

      300Another 300 or so live in zoos or research centers in China and other countries.

      10 and 12Adult pandas spend more than 12 hours a day eating about 10 kilos of bamboo.

      3. Read Paras. 1 and 2and answer the questions.

      1What is Lin Weis job?

      A panda keeper.

      2What do the baby pandas have for breakfast?

      Milk.

      Read Paras. 3 and 4 to learn the pandas problems and the ways of protecting them. And get the students to answer  the questions.

      3Why are pandas endangered?

      Humans cut down bamboo forests. Pandas dont have many babies and baby pandas often die from illnesses and dont live very long.

      4What does the education program in Chengdu do?

      It teaches children about pandas and other endangered wild animals.

      5Why are scientists doing research?

      They are doing research to better understand the habits of pandas.

      4. Get the class to read the article and translate the following phrases

      1……准备…… prepare...for...

      2前去 run over to

      3走路时撞着walk into

      4绊倒 fall over

      5照顾take care of

      6)……的象征a symbol of

      7大约or so

      8砍倒cut down

      5. Work on 2d.

      Step 5 Cooperative inquiry

      Discuss the following language points in groups and fill in the blanks.

      1. ...they run over to them with excitement and some of the young pandas even walk into their friends and fall over! ……它们兴奋地跑向他们中一些年幼的大熊猫甚至撞自己的伙伴而跌倒!

      此句run overwalk intofall over均为短语动词

      (1run over的意思是“跑前去;跑过去”over用作副词表示“从……的边到另边;穿越”

      The pupils ran over to their parents with excitement after school. 放学后小学生们兴奋地跑向自己的父母

      (2walk into表示“走路时撞着”

      He was so careless that he walked into a tree.

      他太不小心了竟然撞到了树上。

      (3fall over表示“摔倒;绊倒;倒下”

      Dont run so fastor you might fall over.

      别跑太快要不你可能会摔跤

      2. Pandas do not have many babiesmaybe only one every two years. 大熊猫产崽并不多也许每两年才生

      every与数词或fewother等连用时表示时间或空间的间隔其形式有:

      (1)“every+基数词+复数名词”意为“每……”

      I visit my grandparents every two weeks.

      我每两周(每隔周)去看望我的祖父母

      (2every + other +可数名词单数意为“每隔……”

      She buys vegetables every other day.

      她每隔天买次菜

      (3every + few+复数名词意为“每几……每隔几……”

      We plant a tree every few meters along the road.

      我们沿着公路每隔几米种棵树
