1.Could you please tell me where I can buy some stamps?
1) Could you please do …? 请你做…好吗？表示委婉地请求。
could 在此并不表示过去，而表示委婉语气。
2) 当宾语从句原形为特殊疑问句时，从句的引导词是疑问句的疑问词。这里从句由where引导。
3) 宾语从句用陈述语序（I can）.
2.Could you tell me how to get to Center Street?
1) “疑问词+动词不定式”充当宾语。
e.g. Do you know how to solve the problem?
你知道如何解决这个问题吗？
2) “疑问词+动词不定式”可以转化为宾语从句。
e.g. Could you tell me how I can get to Center Street?
Do you know how I can solve the problem?
3.Before we decide, could you first tell me where the restrooms are?
1) 该句是由连接副词where引导的宾语从句。
2) restroom, washroom, bathroom & toilet以上词都可以表示“洗手间”。
中西方文化差异,习惯用语不同。
4.I don’t mean that. I mean ...
mean v. “意思是…”
mean doing sth. “意味着”
Success means working hard.成功意味着工作努力。
mean to do sth. “打算或企图做某事”, 其主语通常是表示人的名词或代词。
We mean to call on you tomorrow.我们打算明天看望你。
5.You don't need to rush!你不必着急！
1)need在这里作行为动词，意为“需要”。作行为动词时，need有人称和数的变化，后面可接名词、代词、动名词及带to的动词不定式，可用于肯定句、疑问句或否定句中。
e.g.I don't need to see the doctor. She needs help.
need还可做情态动词，这时无人称和数的变化，后接动词原形，多用于否定句或疑问句中。
e.g.You needn't worry.
2)rush用作动词，意为“仓促，急促”，常用短语：rush to do sth.意为“赶紧做某事，抢着做某事”。
e.g.She's always rushing to finish first.
rush用作名词，意为“匆忙，高峰”，常用短语：
in a rush匆忙地，仓促地 rush hour(交通)高峰期，拥堵时刻
6.I suggest Water City Restaurant in Water World.
我建议去水世界的水城餐馆。
suggest及物动词，意为“建议，提议”，其主要用法为：
①suggest sth. (to sb.)向某人提议/建议某事
e.g.He suggested a walk.
②suggest doing sth.建议做某事
e.g.She suggested going there by bike.
③suggest+that引导宾语从句，意为“建议……”,这时宾语从句要用虚拟语气，谓语动词用“(should)+动词原形”
e.g.He suggested (that) we (should) do it at once.
【拓展】
①suggest的名词形式为suggestion，意为“建议，提议”
e.g.May I make a suggestion?
②在表示“建议某人做某事”时，可用advise sb. to do sth.,不能用suggest sb. to do sth.
7.It’s always busy at that time, so come a little earlier to get a table.
那时候总是很忙，所以来早点儿以便能有空位。
在就餐语境，busy : 吃饭人多；就餐 拥挤；
get a table : 定餐桌；占位子
