★就近原则 ,及nt als...在连接并列成分作主语时,谓 语动词遵循"就近原则",即:谓语动词的人称和数由距离动词最近的那个主 语决定。如: Either yu r he is ging t the meeting this afternn.你或他今天下午要去开会。 Neither he nr I have been abrad befre.他和我以前都没出过国。 Nt nly the teacher but als the students want t have an English party.不仅是老 师还有学生都想开英语派对。
★连接两个并列主语时,谓语动词用复数。如: Bth Tm and Jim are ging t take part in the speech cmpetitin.汤姆和吉姆都 打算参加这场演讲比赛。★but和thugh/althugh, because和s不能同时出现在一个句子中。如: Althugh he was tired, he didn't stp t have a rest.虽然他很累,但是他并没有停 下来休息。 Because the rain lasted fr a week, we had t put ff ur sprts meeting.因为雨持 续下了一个星期,我们不得不推迟我们的运动会。
★when和while 引导时间状语从句时,when既可以和短暂性动词连用,也可以和延续性动词连 用;while只能和延续性动词连用。 试比较: When/While we were talking, Jenny came in.当我们正在说话时,珍妮进来了。 Mr. Green was watching TV in the living rm when the earthquake tk place.地 震发生的时候格林先生正在客厅看电视。 The phne rang while I was ding the dishes. 我洗碗时电话响了。
★until和 until用于肯定句时,句中的谓语动词必须是延续性动词,如wait,wrk,stay等; until用于否定句,与nt构成结构时,句中的谓语动词可以是短暂性动 词。试比较: Andy stayed there until 2019.安迪在2019年以前一直待在那里。 Things didn't change until 2019.事情在2019年以前一直都未发生变化。 I waited fr him until he shwed up.=I didn't leave until he shwed up. 我一直等 到他现身。
