设计说明 首先通过一段视频导入新课,进而了解偏远山区的孩子们艰苦的学习条件。然后通过A1、A2部分的听力详细了解朱迪做志愿者所在学校的状况。Speak up部分的听力练习,通过问答的方式,谈论如何去帮助那些需要帮助的人。然后就这一课时的知识点进行讲解和练习。在Study skills部分,了解英文写作中谋篇布局的几种方法,再通过一些例子教会学生使用不同的布局方法。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握词汇:south-west, north-west, project 2.能力目标 (1)能从听力材料中获取有用的信息;能用已掌握的信息使相关文章的意思表达完整;能用英语谈论如何为需要的人提供帮助; (2)了解英文写作中谋篇布局的几种方法;学会根据不同的文章内容使用不同的布局方法;能辨别英语文章所运用的布局方法。 3.情感目标 通过了解在山区的工作情况,培养学生帮助他人的意识。 重点难点 1.重点:能从听力材料中获取有用的信息;能用已掌握的信息使相关文章的意思表达完整;能用英语谈论如何为需要的人提供帮助。 2.难点:学会根据不同的文章内容,使用不同的布局方法;能辨别英语文章所运用的布局方法。 教学准备 PPT 课件;相关图片。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Watch a video and say: We are lucky to study in a beautiful school. 2. Show some pictures about the poor students in poor areas and ask:
What do you think of the students there? Are the students in other areas as lucky as us? Step 2 Presentation 1. Show a picture about the children in mountain areas and ask how they go to school. 2. Show a table and try to fill in the table.
3. Introduce Judy and learn something about her. Step 3 Listening and speaking 1. Part A1. Listen carefully and choose the correct answers. Then check the answers. Answers: 1 a 2 b 3 a 4 a 5 a 6 b 2. Learn something about Judy’s volunteer life. Show Peter’s questions and predict Judy’s volunteer life according to Peter’s questions.

Need: stationery like pens, pencils, rulers, schoolbags; books and dictionaries; musical instruments (乐器); sports equipment (设备); clothes and shoes; new desks and chairs; a new school near homes; teachers; masks (口罩)… Help: donate books and dictionaries to them; raise money for charities by doing DIY jobs; write to the local government… Step 4 Free talk 1. Have you ever helped anyone in need in your daily life? How did you help him/her? Discuss in pairs. 2. Search on the Internet and learn about how to help the homeless/ blind/poor/ disabled/elderly people. (1) The homeless people: give food to them; provide houses for them to stay (2) The blind people: help them cross the street; provide dog helpers for them (3) The poor people: save our pocket money and donate it to them; help them find jobs (4) The disabled people: help them go up and down stairs; help them cross the road (5) The elderly people: give seats to them on the bus; clean their houses Step 5 Speak up 1. Listen and answer. How can we help homeless people? Answer: We can give food to them. How can we help the elderly? Answer: We can give our seats on the bus to the elderly. 2. Listen and read the dialogue. 3. Show some pictures and ask students to make up a new dialogue. A: How can we help people in our daily lives? B: We can save our pocket money and donate it to those in need. C: I agree. And it’s meaningful to work as volunteers at community centres or in libraries at the weekend. Show the passage “A Trip to Hong Kong Disneyland” and circle the introduction, main body and conclusion of the passage. I have been in Hong Kong for two days. We are having a fantastic time here. Today we spent the whole day at Disneyland. First, we had fun on Space Mountain. We were screaming and laughing while taking an indoor roller coaster. Next, we hurried to a restaurant to have a quick meal. On the way, we met some Disney cartoon characters. They are so cute. Later in the afternoon, everybody got excited because of a parade of Disney characters. I couldn’t stop taking photos. After the parade, we watched a 4-D film. It was like magic. We could even smell the apple pie and feel the wind. Then we did some shopping. I bought a couple of key rings for my classmates. At the end of the day, we watched the fireworks in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. That’s my trip in Hong Kong Disneyland. Is it fantastic? 2. Circle some expressions of time in this passage just like “first, next, later, after, then, at the end of the day” . Then circle some expressions of space in the below passage “The home stay” just like “on the first floor, on the second floor, on the third floor”. The home stay Instead of hotels, I choose to live in a home stay with my parents. Let me introduce it to you. On the first floor , there is a dining hall. We can have dinner there. Beside it is a living room in which we can enjoy some movies or play games. On the second floor , there are four rooms for the visitors. My room is among them. We can organize our ideas in Time Order when we write about an experience or an event. first(ly), at first, first of all, in the beginning; second(ly), later, then, after that, afterwards; finally, at last, lastly We can organize our ideas in Space Order when we describe a place or an object. 4. Show the passage “Travelling” . Circle the main idea part and the specific information part. Then give the rules: When we use General to specific(总分式,简称G-S), we give a general statement first, and then use specific information to support the main idea . Then give some expressions to give specific information. 5. Show the passage “Environment” and circle specific examples and the main idea part. Then give the rules. We use Specific to general (分总式,简称S-G) when we want to use some specific examples to lead to the main ideas. Step 7 Conclusion 1. Time order: 常用于叙述经历或事件,可以用first、next、then和finally把细节连接起来。 2. Space order: 常用于描述一个地方或一件物品。 3. General to specific: 先提出观点,再用具体实例来支撑观点。 4. Specific to general: 先陈述事实、列举实例,再陈述观点。(与G-S相反) Step 8 Practice 1. Put the five sentences into the right order.
