情态动词本身有一定的含义，为谓语动词增添情态色彩，表示说话人对有关行为或事物的态度和看法，认为其可能、应该或必要等。我们学过的 can 和 may 都属于这类词。
情态动词 may/might 表示“可能”
情态动词无人称和数的变化，后面接的动词需用原形，否定式是在情态动词后面加 nt。
1. may和might 用于一般疑问句中，表示委婉的请求； 肯定回答用may；否定回答用mustn’t。如：
— May I use yur pencil? 可以用你的铅笔吗？— Yes, yu may. 是的，可以。— N, yu mustn’t. 不，不行。
may 和 might

2. may和might表示推测时，只能用于陈述句中，但在表示将来的可能情况时，might表示的可能性比may表示的可能性要小。如：

注意：prbably 表示“很可能”，所表示的可能性比 pssibly 要大。
