    3. Thinking ability:(1) Let the students know how to offer help. (2) It is important for them to help others.

    repair; fix; fix up; give away; take after; broken; wheel; run out of;  in need; be proud of.

    Target language:

    1. I need to come up with some way of getting money or I ’ll have to stop.

    2. I fix up the bikes and give them away to these kids.

    3. He always volunteers to help people in need.

    To learn the story of Jimmy and try to retell it.

    Teacher Preparation: multimedia courseware, textbook recordings

    3.Pre-listening

    (2)Predict some information according to these pictures.

    4.While-listening

    (1)Finish 1c,1d and check the answers.

    (2)Read the listening materials and explain the language points.

    (3)Retell the story.

    Jimmy is a very wonderful young man.  Many kids don’t have _______

    教学反思

    In this lesson, the teacher-student question and answer activity is designed first. It not only allows students to review the content of last lesson, but also guides them to express their ideas of serving as volunteers. At the same time, it also makes them know that helping others makes them happy. Then the content of this lesson will be naturally introduced to the students. Next, the combination of listening, speaking, reading and writing not only enhances the students’ comprehensive application ability, but also consolidates the students’ learning of the target language. In this class, the combination of teaching and practice makes students deeply impressed with the knowledge points and has a good teaching effect.
