    (1) “May I+动词原形+”是表达请求允许的句型。may在此表示请求对方许可。肯定回答常用 “Yes, please./Yes, f curse. /Certainly.”等;作否定回答时应用mustn’t。e.g. —May I use yur phne? 我可以用你的电话吗? —Yes, please. / N, yu mustn’t. 是的,请用。/不,你不能。
    (2) brrw意为“借来”,习惯上用brrw sth. frm sb. I ften brrw strybks frm my teacher. 我经常向老师借故事书。
    2. The girl lks fr the bks n the shelves.女孩在书架上找这些书。
    lk fr意为“寻找”,强调寻找的动作和过程。e.g. My father is lking fr his bag. 我父亲正在寻找他的包。
    【辨析】find意为“ 找到;发现”,强调找的结果。find ut意为“查出;获知;弄清楚”,强调经过研究、调查而得。e.g. She fund her mther in the supermarket. 她在超市找到了她妈妈。Can yu find ut when the plane will fly? 你能弄清楚飞机什么时候起飞吗?
    3. Hw lng can I keep them? 我可以借多久?
    (1) hw lng意为“多长时间”,回答一般是时间段。e.g. — Hw lng did he stay here? 他在这待了多长时间? — Abut tw weeks. 大约两周。
    hw lng还可以用来询问某物有多长。e.g. — Hw lng is the river? 这条河有多长? — Abut 500 km. 大约五百千米。
    【拓展】hw ften意为“多久一次或每隔多久”,回答一般为表示频率的词。 hw sn意为“多久之后”,回答一般为“ in + 时间段 ”。
    (2) keep意为“保存,保留”,“keep sth. fr +时间段”表示借某物多长时间。e.g. Yu can keep the bk fr tw days.
    英语中借东西还可以用brrw、lend来表达。brrw表示主语借进,lend表示主语借出。brrw sth. frm sb. 向某人借某物lend sb. sth. (=lend sth. t sb.) 把某物借给某人e.g. May I brrw a pen frm yu? 我可以向你借支笔吗?e.g. I can lend yu a bk. 我能借给你一本书。
    4. Yu must return them n time. 你必须按时归还它们。
    (1) 句中return意为“归还”,为及物动词,相当于give back。e.g. He will return yur bike next week. 他下周会把自行车还给你。
    return意为“返回,回来”时,是不及物动词。 “return t+地点”表示“回到某地”;“return frm+地点”表示“从……回来”。e.g. He returns t his hme every weekend. 他每个周末都回家。
    (2) n time意为“准时,按时”。in time 意为“及时”。e.g. We must get t schl n time. 我们必须按时到校。I hpe we get there in time. 我希望我们及时到达那里。
