设计说明

　　本课时的重点内容是课文2b。课文主要介绍了中国和英国在庆祝生日时所吃的食物及其寓意，让同学们在轻松的学习氛围中了解不同国家的饮食差异，增强学生的跨文化意识。阅读环节主要以学生自学为主，小组合作学习与探究学习相结合，调动学生阅读的积极性，提高他们的阅读水平。另一个内容是学会为餐馆写广告，让学生灵活运用所学知识，做到学以致用，提高英语的运用能力和写作水平。

教学目标

　　1. 知识目标：

　　（1）掌握单词和短语：world，answer，different，cake，candle，age，blow，if，will，candy，lucky，popular，idea；around the world，make a wish，blow out，the UK，get popular，cut up，bring good luck to...。

　　（2）读懂课文“Birthday Food Around the World”和 “The Ice-cream and Pancake House”。

　　2. 能力目标：

　　（1）如何通过阅读获得相关信息，并将所得信息整 合，用自己的语言表达出来。

　　（2）指导学生根据所学知识为餐馆写一则宣传广告，培养学生的写作能力。

　　Step 1　Warming up & Leading in

　　T：Good morning，boys and girls. When is your birthday，×××? What would you like to eat on your birthday?

　　S1：My birthday is on...and I’d like a birthday cake.

　　Step 2　Reading

　　1. Read the article quickly and circle the new words and phrases.

　　2. Read it again and complete the chart.

　　Answers：UK：birthday cake；Blowing out candles on a cake makes a wish come true. It is lucky to find a candy in a cake.

　　China：long noodles，eggs；Long noodles are a symbol of long life. Eggs are a symbol of life and good luck.

　　3. Read and answer the questions in 2c.（Before reading，make sure that the students can understand the questions.）

　　（1）would like to do sth. 为固定搭配，意为“想要做 某事”。

　　（2）the number of与a number of

　　“the number of+可数名词复数”意为“……的数量”，作主语时，谓语动词用单数形式。

　　“a number of+可数名词复数”意为“许多……”，作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。

　　A number of people get（get/gets） to work by bus.

　　（3）if引导条件状语从句

　　在含有if引导的条件状语从句的主从复合句中，主句用一般将来时（will do），if从句常用一般现在时表示将来。

　　If it rains （rain） tomorrow，we will watch （watch） TV at home.

　　If it doesn’t rain （not rain） next weekend，they will go （go） on a school trip.

　　（4）cut up意为“切碎”，为“动词+副词”型短语，代词it/them作宾语时，必须放在中间。

　　（5）different与differently

　　形容词different后加-ly构成副词differently。different用在连系动词后作表语或用在名词前作定语；differently通常用在实义动词后作状语。

　　（6）make...come true意为“使……成为现实”，其中make为使役动词，其后接动词原形作宾补，意为“使/让……做……”。

　　1. Fill in the blanks in 3a with the words in the box.

　　2. Talk in groups. （Talk about how to write an ad for a restaurant.）

　　4. According to the menu，write an ad for your restaurant. For example：
