Ancient City f PingyaPingya is an exceptinally well-preserved example f a traditinal Han Chinese city, funded in the 14th century. Its urban fabric shws the evlutin f architectural styles and twn planning in Imperial China ver five centuries. Of special interest are the impressive buildings assciated with banking, fr which Pingya was the majr centre fr the whle f China in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Ancient City f Pingya is an utstanding example f Han cities in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (frm the 14th t 20th century). It maintains all the Han city features, prvides a cmplete picture f the cultural, scial, ecnmic and religius develpment in Chinese histry, and it is f great value fr studying the scial frm, ecnmic structure, military defense, religius belief, traditinal thinking, traditinal ethics and dwelling frm.
