Baby kangars (袋鼠) are called jeys. While grwn kangars can be as tall as peple, newbrn jeys are as small as beans (豆) and weigh just a gram r tw. A newbrn jey is hairless and its eyes are clsed. As sn as a jey is brn, it climbs int its mther's puch (育儿袋). It stays there and drinks milk there fr mnths. During this time its eyes pen, and it grws hair. Sn it lks less like a bean and mre like a small kangar.
At abut fur mnths ld, a jey begins peeking ut (微露出) f its mther's puch. It stays in the puch t drink its mther’s milk, but it als starts t learn abut the utside wrld. Smetimes when its mther eats grass, a jey will taste the grass, t.
When a jey is abut six mnths ld, it begins t take shrt trips away frm its mther. It learns t jump but quickly returns t its mther’s puch.
By the time it is eight mnths ld, it is able t leave the puch and stand n its wn. Over the next few mnths the jey will spend mre time ut f the puch. But it will still cme back smetimes and put its head int the mther’s puch t have a drink.
