When this team examined a pisnus mushrm, they discvered that caffeic acid is respnsible fr its biluminescence. In this new study, the team emplyed that infrmatin and inserted(嵌入) enzymes(酶)—which are specific t the mushrm—int the DNA f tbacc plants. In turn, the enzymes were able t interact with the caffeic acid in the tbacc plants, and cause them t glw bth in the dark and in the daylight.
    This methd, the scientists claimed, made the plants 10 times brighter than previus effrts and the cntinuus light prductin didn't harm the health f the plants. Interestingly, the light decreased as the leaves aged—but it als increased when the leaves were damaged.
