1. Charles Dickens 查尔斯·狄更斯

Charles Dickens (1812-1870), a famous British novelist. He is a key representative(主要代表) of 19th century British literary realism(批判现实主义文学). He created many novels (n. 小说), such as Oliver Twist (《雾都孤儿》), Hard Times (《艰难时世》), A Tale of Two Cities (《双城记》), A Christmas Carol (《圣诞颂歌》). 他在自己的作品中，以高超的艺术手法，描绘了包罗万象的社会图景，作品一贯表现出揭露和批判的锋芒，贯彻惩恶扬善的人道主义精神，塑造出众多令人难忘的人物形象。一百多年来他的代表作《双城记》在全世界盛行不衰，深受广大读者的欢迎。
