Every day before I went to school, my mother had to leave early for work. She had to walk half an hour to get to the bus stop. We really thought it was terrible that there wasn’t a bus stop near our street.

At school, we learned about the public transportation system (公共交通系统). The government spends a lot of money on it, and the money comes from taxes (税款). An idea came to me: people in my community pay taxes. This is a public transportation system. It should come closer to our homes.

My mother agreed that would be great. But she said it would take more than one family to get the bus line to change.

I talked with my teacher about the idea and she liked it. Our class surveyed (调查) all our parents. We found that 90% of the parents would use the bus more if it was easier to get to.
