What is the real reason Anna admires the famous people, and what examples does she give ?The real reason is that those people have worked so hard to achieve their goals and uncountless contributions to the society.  She gives the examples of Elon Musk and Bill Gates 3.What kind of person do you think Wang Lin admires? Why ? She admires those who  do good things inspiring her and her life.Because she lists the example of Jack Ma and her father. PPT 14-20 Post-Listening 1.Work in groups. Brainstorm the names of some great people and write them in the table below. 2.Discuss what makes these people great. Try to use the following language fillers to give yourself time to think.Jack: Bill, what makes these people great ?Bill: Um, May I think about that for a moment ?Jack: Jim, what's your opinion about it ?Jim: I think it's the persistence that makes them great just like the father of India, er, ... The greatest person I know of is Dr. Zhong Nanshan, who managed the SARS outbreaks in China in 2003. Now it's he who prevented the COVID-19 from quick spread all over the country once again. To me, greatness means sacrifice and devotion. Dr Zhong Nanshan took risks entering the isolated area to cure the patients, summarizing the infected but recovered cases and sharing his successful experience with other home and abroad doctors. He serves as a good role model and makes great contributions to society. That's all. Thank you!             Students can match the people with their achievements by their own life experience. After listening, they can check the answers.           While listening ,students can tick out the person he or she admires.This can be done twice,make notes for the first,then choose the correct answer the second time.   This part is a little difficult for most students.If can not do it individually,they can have a discussion with partner or listen to the audio two or three times.                               Students can have a discussion in groups and brainstorm the names of some great people and write them in the table below.      Discuss what makes these people great  using the following language fillers to give yourself time to think.                  After discussion,students can draw a conclusion about the meaning of greatness by using the words and phrases given. Then report back to the class                To help students     improve the ability of input and output though the listening and discussion .          To train students how to grasp the main information while listening.         To improve students’ listening comprehension ability.
