The main task (Outcome)  1)The students will be able to know how to talk about their changes, the biggest change and their plans or wishes about the changes.2)The students will be able to know how to make a good writing according to the writing tips.2. Language skills1)The students will be able to know the three parts to talk about their growing changes.2)The students will be able to know the three writing tips to improve their writing.3. Language focus  1) The students will be able to use the following structures to talk about general changes.     In the past, I used to/ was/ did/..., but now I am/ do/ am no longer/ no longer do/ dont... any more/...2) The students will be able to use the following structures to describe their biggest change.     a. the biggest change: The biggest change in my life was that...     b.the experience: One day...     c.the lesson: I came to realize that...4. Writing skills1) A good writing needs different sentence patterns.   2) A good writing needs attractive and specific experience.  3) A good writing needs proper tense.5. Learning skills  The students will learn the target language by talking and discussion inclass. 6. Affection1) The students will be interested in describing their changes.2) The students will be inspired by the plans of changes.Teaching Difficulties: The students might find it difficult to describe the biggest change Teaching Aids: Blackboard, Chalk, Computer, White board, Markers.Blackboard Design    Topic Writing of  Unit4 : Growing ChangesMy life has changed a lot in the last few years.In the past, I used to (appearance/personality           hobby/others)But now, I am/ am...not anymore/   am no longer...                    The biggest change in my life was that...The experience( who/when/what/how)The lesson (came to realize...)                       I would like/ plan to...            I hope I will            I am going to... Teaching Procedures and Activities Teaching ProceduresActivities of the TeacherActivities of the studentsExplanationsStep1: My changesT:  Good afternoon, boys and girls.  Nice to meet you. Now lets watch a short video and then tell me what its about.T:  When we grow up, we will have so many changes. They are called Growing Changes. Today we are going to write about the Growing changes.Just like you, I have also changed a lot in the last few years. Can you help to talk about my change?Students are going to enjoy a photo show about Teacher and students changes between in the past and now and talk about Ts changes in personality, appearance, hobbies and others. In this part, the teacher is going to motivate the students and lead the students into the topic and review some relevant vocabulary.Step2:Your changesT: Are my changes are great?So how about you? Whats your change?T: Can you talk about your two changes with the different sentence patterns?  In the past, I used to/ was/ did/..., but now I am/ do/ am no longer/ no longer do/ dont... any more/...Students are going to talk about their changes with different sentence patterns.In this part, students are going to learn the first writing tip: A good writing needs different sentence patterns. Step3: His change& the biggest changeT:  Now I have found you have changed a lot. So how about this boy, do you remember his name? Actually Li Wens life has changed a lot in the last few years.What was he like in the past?T: What is he like now?T: And whats his biggest change?  What happened to him? (when/who/what/ how)  What did he learn? Students are going to review the general changes about Li Wen and discuss about his biggest change.Students are going to find out more details about the biggest change/the experience/ the lessonIn this part,Students are going to review reading material and find some information about the biggest change.Step4:Your biggest change T: As for my biggest change, it was that I am much braver than I used to . On my first day of school, as a teacher, I was nervous and worried about my class. At that time, I saw all of the students smiling at me just like you now, which encouraged me a lot. I felt really relaxed and I became more confident. I also came to realize that the most important thing is to believe in myself and keep going. So now how about your biggest change? You can share it with your partner first.Students are going to share their biggest change by using the structure ( the biggest change/ the experience /the lesson).In this part, teachers are going to learn the second writing tip: A good writing needs attractive and specific experience.Step4: Plans & wishesT: Are your changes great? Do you want any more great changes? What other things do you want to change?T: What tense do we use about the plans, the changes or the biggest change.Students are going to talk about their plans about changes.Students are going to discuss about the proper tense during the writing.  In this part, students are going to learn the third writing tip:A good writing needs proper tense. Step5:Writing T: Now we can write about our passage about growing changes. Before it, we need to know how many parts are there in the passage?T: Dont forget our 3 writing tips, to have different sentence patterns, describe your attractive and specific experience and use proper tense. Now please write about it, Ill give you 10 minutes. If you have any problems, just hands up and ask me.   Students are going to realize the main idea of  three parts of passage. In this part, students are going to practice by using what they have learned today. Step6:Show timeT: Now we have a passage from .... Lets check her writing according to the checklist. Group 1, you need to check tip 1, does she have any different sentence patterns? Group 2, you can check tip 2, does she describe her attractive and specific experience. Group 3, you have to check tip3, does she use proper tense. And Group 4, you could look through the passage and find something to polish it. OK, go ahead and discuss. Students are going to check the writing in groups with the checklist.In this part, students are going to check others writing to polish it. Step7:HomeworkT: So are your changes great? What can you get from the great changes? Because of the great changes, we can be better. And our life can be better. Because you life doesnt get better by chance, it gets better by change. Here is your homework, Finish your writing.Polish your writingShare your changes with others. Students are going to solidify what they’ve acquired today and write down they’ve learned. Teaching ReflectionAfter having this class, the best part I enjoy a a lot is that students can put what they have learned into practice. Although not all students can finish the writing in class, I believe they can do it well after class because they have already learned how to write well in class.  Its really a pity that I just let one student to show one writing sample about growing changes because of the limited time.
