During the Labour Day holiday in 2022, Zha Liguo, a tour guide, enjoyed five sunrises and sunsets over Huangshan Mountain in East China’s Anhui Province. He was joined by hundreds of thousands of people who are interested in travelling. They enjoyed the wonderful sights on their mobile phone in what has come to be known as “Cloud Tourism”. During the five-day holiday, Zha began his day with a broadcast(广播) of the sunrise at the top of the mountain at 5 a.m. He then would walk more than 10 km and wait for the sunset with his only three mobile phones. “Cloud Tourism” has become popular in China as people are advised not to go on long trips because of the COVID-19 pandemic(疫情). Thanks to livestreaming(网络直播), people can enjoy wonderful sights online.
“The epidemic has made it hard for many people to travel far away. I hope to share the wonderful sights of Huangshan Mountain in different seasons,” Zha said. Having worked as a tour guide for more than 20 years, Zha began livestreaming in 2020 because of the epidemic. During three years, he got lots of followers. In 2021, he lived on Huangshan Mountain for more than 280 days, and the live broadcast lasted for more than 2 000 hours. Over 51 million people watched his livestream.
