探究二： 知识点解读

 1. Even more serious difficulties include freezing weather conditions and heavy storms.

 1) difficulty 既可作可数名词也可作不可数名词。

      表示抽象意义的 “困难”, 是不可数名词。

       She had great difficulty in understanding him. 

      表示具体意义的 “困难 (如难事, 难点, 难题等)” , 是可数名词。如：

      He met with many difficulties when travelling. 

     常见短语： 

      have difficulty in doing sth. = have difficulty with sth.

      without difficulty【反】 with difficulty

2) include是及物动词, 意为 “包括, 包含”, 侧重指被包含着是整体的一部分。后可接名词或动名词作宾语。

    This plan includes most of your suggestions.

    My job doesn't include making coffee for the boss.

    Including 是现在分词，在许多情况下用作介词，后面直接接宾语，含有补充说明之意。

    Thirty passengers were hurt, including five children.

    Included 是过去分词形式的形容词, 在表示“包括…在内”时, 常放在被修饰的名词或代词之后, 起着补充说明的作用。

    There are 50 students in my class, me included.

3) freezing adj. 

   ① 极冷的;冻得彻骨的

         It's freezing outside now.   现在外面冷极了。

   ② (人)感到极冷的，冻得要命的

        “You must be freezing.”, she said.“你一定冻坏了”,她说。

   【区别】

    Freezing和frozen都是由动词freeze(结冰，凝固)变成的形容词。从形式上讲, freezing是现在分词, 含有主动性, 强调正在结冰的过程，表示“结冰的, 严寒的”。

    Frozen是过去分词,含有被动性, 强调结冰的结果, 表示“结了冰的, 覆盖着冰的, 冷冻的”。

   The lake was frozen over until late spring.

   那湖全让冰封住了,到晚春才解冻.

2.while the first woman to succeed was Junko Tabei from Japan in 1975.

   1) while在此作并列连词，意思为“而，然而”，表对比。

       Some people waste food while others haven't enough.

       I like reading books , while he likes playing games.

    2) succeed 意思是“实现目标, 成功”, 不及物动词。 多用于：sb. succeeded in doing sth.（某人做某事成功了）

         He succeeded in getting the job.
