You’ll make a lot of different friends during your life, but true friends are hard to come by. Real friends make you feel confident and happy. Everyone needs a little positive energy here and there, and true friends have it. Even when they disagree with you, they still support you.
Sometimes you just want someone to listen to you, and true friends know how to be a good listener. They make eye contact with you when talking, and remember what you’ve told them. If your friend is looking around the room and checking their phones every time you talk, they’re probably not true friends.
With true friends, you can share everything happily with them. They share theirs back. They’ll pick up on your moods. If you feel it is necessary to hide something from your friend, or feel like they don’t open up to you about their lives, you’re facing another not-so-true friend.
Honesty is the most important part of true friendship. If your friend is open and honest with you, it’s a good sign. If your friend lies, no matter it’s about little things or big things, and then maybe you have to reconsider the relationship between you.
True friends doesn’t have to agree with everything you’ve done, but they always make you feel good about who you are. True friends are those you’re happy to be around. They make the time fly. If you’re less happy with your friend than when you’re alone, then you might as well go alone.
58.How do you feel if you have real friends?
A.Upset and angry. B.Proud and comfortable.
C.Sad and nervous. D.Confident and happy.
59.What personality is the most important for a true friend?
A.Honest. B.Humorous. C.Kind. D.Patient.
60.What’s the passage mainly about?
A.How to make friends. B.How to hide from friends.
C.Making your friends happy. D.Finding yourself a true friend.

At 00:23 on Oct 16, 2021, the Shenzhou XIII spacecraft rose into the sky from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu. Three Chinese astronauts—Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu—set off for the Tiangong space station.
It is the fourth spacecraft to visit the Tiangong station and the second manned ship to transport astronauts to the orbiting outpost(轨道位置). The crew will stay in space for six months, carrying out the longest-ever space mission by Chinese astronauts.
The Shenzhou XIII astronauts have a wide range of assignments, such as doing medical experiments, setting up robotic arms and checking the devices(设备) inside the station. They have performed two space walks to work outside the station—one was on Nov 7, with Wang becoming China’s first femalé spacewalker, while the other was on Dec 26.
The mission is a valuable opportunity for China’s science community because it allows the astronauts to carry out in-orbit experiments that take a lot of time and manual work.
The Shenzhou XIII mission has fueled (点燃) teenagers’ passion for space exploration as well. On Dec 9, the astronauts gave a science lecture to millions of students on Earth. They showed the kids a glimpse (一瞥) of their space life and did some fun science experiments. For example, Wang made a water ball to show that water in space is different from that on Earth. It will not flow downward if you try to pour it into a cup.
Denis Simon, executive director of the Center for Innovation Policy at Duke University in the US, told Xinhua that China’s success in space continues to be impressive. “China is now well on its way to being a leader in space exploration,” he said.

C.How the space walks were performed.
D.Devices astronauts used to finish their tasks.
63.What do we know about water in space?
A.It does not flow downward.
B.Its color is different from water on Earth.

D.It will break a cup if people try to pour it.
64.What does Denis Simon mean in the last paragraph?
A.There will be more success in space exploration around the world.
B.Cooperation(合作)between China and the US is going well.
C.China has followed the laws of space exploration.
D.China has done a great job in space exploration.

At some point in our childhood, many of us visited a beach. And we have probably all done this: collect a beautiful conch shell (海螺壳) and hold it to our ear. Did you hear that whooshing sound (嗖嗖声) like waves’ sound?
As little kids, we probably thought that was the sound of the ocean. Some people believe that the conch shells carry the sound of the waves for a long time. This is why we can hear the whooshing sound even when we’re far away from the ocean. However, you can easily tell this is not true. Try putting your palm (手掌) or an empty cup over your ear, and you will hear a similar sound.
Some people believe in a theory (可能的解释): The air flowing into and out of the conch shell creates the whooshing noise. To test this idea, scientists took some conch shells into a completely soundproof (隔音的) room. Sound was prevented from entering or leaving this room. People inside of the room weren’t able to hear any of the noises from outside. However the space itself still had air flowing around inside of it. So did the conch shells produce a whooshing sound in this room? According to the results of the experiment, they didn’t. Therefore, the theory was wrong.
So, why exactly do we hear that whooshing sound? Can you guess the answer from the above experiment? Yes, the secret actually lies in the noises in the environment. There’re always lots of sounds around us, from small whispers (耳语声) to loud speakers. We usually don’t pay attention to the background noises especially if they are very low.
The conch shell as well as your palm and cup acts like a resonant cavity (共振的腔体). When the noises in the environment hit the walls of the cavity, they get reflected back and forth (来回反射) many times. This makes these noises sound louder to us. The result is something similar to the sound of ocean wave. Depending on the shape and size of the cavity, different sounds can be produced. Do a shell your palm and your cup each produce different sounds? Do a small experiment and find out!
65.What does the underlined word “tell” mean in English?
A.Think about. B.Keep a secret. C.Make sure. D.Have a discussion.
66.Scientists took some conch shells into a completely soundproof room in order to see __________.
A.find out were far away from the ocean
B.prevent sound from entering or leaving this room
C.make some noises that people weren’t able to hear
D.blow the air out of the conch shell to make the whooshing sound
67.We can hear the whooshing sound in the conch shell because of _________.
A.the walls of the cavity B.a small whisper
C.wrong environment D.the result from an experiment
68.Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A.Conch shells, your loud speakers! B.Shh…Listen to the“Waves”!
C.Say goodbye, ocean and sea’s sound! D.Hi, clap your hands together!

In a modern world where time is money, how have our reading habits been influenced? Are we reading more quickly or do we prefer to read short passages? The answer perhaps lies in the kind of text you’re reading.
When we’re reading online, we read quickly to search what we want. Does this mean that as readers we now have far less patience than we used to? Not necessarily. Much of this activity is actually skimming or scanning to check whether something is useful or interesting and whether we want to read on. We’ll slowdown and take a bit longer to properly read the text if the headline catches our eyes.
For those writing for an online environment, this means finding more useful ways of catching the readers’ eyes. For example, putting the key information at the very beginning makes it more likely that the time-poor website visitors will find what they want.
But what about when we’re reading literature(文学), are the rules still the same? The average reader works their way through a piece of an article at no more than about 250-300 words per minute, which is generally a page of text. If you try to read through a novel more quickly, then you start to lose a lot of what makes literature such a pleasure. When we read for pleasure, we are much less focused on picking out useful information or key words. Instead, the language itself is as important as the information mentioned. The longer you spend reading a passage, the more vivid(生动)a picture you create in your mind.
Sometimes an escape(逃离)from the fast-moving Internet Age is just what we need, so maybe it’s time to slow down and lose yourself in a good book.
69.Why do people read quickly online according to the text?
A.Because people are becoming less patient than they used to.
B.Because people think the passages on the Internet are boring.
C.Because they need to save time for printing what they want.
D.Because people want to decide whether to read on quickly.
70.How does the writer organize Paragraph 3?
A.By giving an example. B.By asking questions.
C.By listing numbers. D.By showing facts.
71.What would the writer most probably like to do?
A.Draw some pictures on the book. B.Enjoy himself while reading slowly.
C.Write an article of 250-300 words. D.Read through a novel very quickly.
72.Which of the following best shows the structure of the text?(P=Paragraph)
