    1. Greetings and free talk.
    2. Chse the Huizhi Talent fr this year. Watch the vides f students’ talent shws. And then ask the students t wrk in pairs and chse the best talent shw and give their reasns.
    【Design purpse: The talent shw vides are chsen frm the students in ur schl. It is designed as the lead-in part due t the fllwing three functins: 1. Situatinal functin: students can imagine themselves as judges fr the talent shws, which can aruse their interests immediately. 2. Practical functin:by using the material they are familiar with, students are suppsed t use the superlatives they have learnt in practice. 3. Cperatin functin: thrugh the pair wrk, students can learn t cperate with each ther.】
    Step Tw: Presentatin and Prductin
    Activity 1: Exercise f 1a.
    Write these wrds and phrases next t their ppsites in the chart.
    【Design purpse: Thrugh this exercise, students are expected t review the changing rules f the superlatives learnt in previus classes.】
    Activity 2: Games
    1. Say it quickly. Shw the adjectives n the ballns. Ask all the students t stand up and say the superlatives f the adjectives as quickly as they can.
    2. The magic hand. Say the ppsite frms f the superlatives. Encurage all the students t take part in the games.
    【Design purpse: Games can nt nly make the atmsphere alive,but als help the students t cnslidate what they have learnt in a way they are interested in.】
    Activity 3: Listening
    1. Pre-listening activity
    1) Predictin: Shw pictures f different talent shws tgether and ask the students t guess the main idea f the passage.
    【Design purpse: Predictin is a gd listening skill. It reduces the difficulties and paves way fr later tasks.】
    2) Talk abut the pictures: Lk at the pictures and talk abut the talent shws in each picture.
    【Design purpse: Thrugh the prcess, students are expected t learn the new wrds they are ging t hear in the listening material, which reduces the bstacles in the fllwing activities.】
    2. While-listening activity
    1) Listen and match.
    (1c) Listen t peple talking abut a schl talent shw. Match the pictures with the perfrmers.
    【Design purpse: Students are suppsed t match the peple and their talent shws, which help them t have a further understanding f the listening material.】
    2) Listen and chse.
    Questin 1: Why did they think Dennis was the wrst?
    A. He kept drpping the balls.
    B. His perfrmance was nt interesting.
    C. He culd nt sing very well.
    Questin 2: Vera was the mst creative because _______.
    A. She was very funny.

    4) Listen and rle play
    Fill in the blanks with the crrect answers and then rle play the cnversatin.

    After listening t the material, divide the students int grup f fur. Ask them t chse the mst talented students in ur class fr the next Huizhi Talent.
    【Design purpse: On the ne hand, it helps students t learn t cperate with each ther thrugh grup discussin; n the ther hand, the tpic they discussed eches the lead-in part f this lessn.】
