■ Warming up by greeting and introducing 1. Sing an English song Ten Little Indian Boys. 2. A student gives a speech : This is me. 3. Reading practice. ■ Lead in T :My name is Cheng Dongmei . My first name is Dongmei, my last name is Cheng. My English name is Julia . You can call me Dongmei /Julia or Miss Cheng. Ask and answer with a few students. ■ . Number revision Revise the numbers and design some games to grasp the numbers. (1). Say the numbers. (2). Game1: Use the number cards to match the numbers. (3) . Read and write a groups of numbers. (4) . Learn the special use about numbers. (5) . Sing the English song about the numbers. ■ Talking and making a survey to revise more sentences.. Show them some pictures to talk about the famous people. Read the key sentences in this unit. Ask the students to find the rule of the Chinese names and the English names . This is a grammar learning. ■ Learning and practicing to overcome the difficulties Learn the grammar about the pronouns , do some exercise. ■ Making ,talking and writing After they learn names and numbers ,try to make their ID card. (1). Game : Show a NBA star’s ID card, give them 5seconds to remember the information. Then talk about him. (2). Ask them to try to make their own ID cars, they can draw their photos on their ID cards. (3). Pairwork: Ask the ss to talk about their ID cards in pairs. (4). Ask two students to show their ID cards and introduce themselves. (5) Write a short self-introduction in three minutes : like this : This is my ID card. My name is … My first name is … My last name is … My phone number is … My QQ number is … Do you want to be my friends ? ■ Self check (1). Give them two minutes to finish self check . (2). Ask the ss to share their answers. ■ Summary ■ Homework (1). Copy the main sentences in Unit 1. (2). Write a short passage to introduce their friends / families/ famous stars .
| ■ Warm up the atmosphere of the class . The song and the speech are both related to what we will learn , they can help the students go into the English class quickly.
Design ideas : To warm up the class, to close the relations between the teacher and the students, quickly.
■ Design ideas: Lots of practice can enable the students to grasp the numbers .
By talking about many stars in China and other foreign countries, students can improve their oral English. By comparing the differences about names in different countries, students can learn the culture background of language learning.
Teaching ideas : Pronouns are key point and the difficult point, the related exercise can help the students consolidate the key point .
Design ideas : The pictures of the stars can interest the students , they can also make the class more lively ; Language output – writing is the last step of language learning ,is also the most important part . Through a series of activities , students can revise the key words and sentences and grammar in this unit.
