展开Lesson Plan for Unit 7 B2b
Teaching material
Go for it 七上 Unit 7 How much are these clothes? Section B2b Mr. Cool’s Clothes Store
Students Analysis

2) understand the following topic related expressions by T’s presentation:
attract, attractive, strategy, big sale, 70% off, customer
3) know the following ways to write an attractive ad and be able to use them to write their own ads.
a. Invite customers to the store at the beginning and the end
b. Use the selling strategy of big sale
c. Ask questions to attract customers' attention
d. Think about different customers' needs
e. Use more adjectives to describe the things in the store
f. Use other selling strategies such as gifts, buy one get one free, and coupons
4) know some well-known sales promoting days(Thanksgiving Day, Boxing Day, Black Friday) in western countries by watching the video clip and practicing the target expression at a great sale.
5) be aware of the sales promoting strategies employed in ads and think critically from the customers’ perspective and then possibly make rational purchase decisions in their everyday life.
Lesson Outcome
Ss work in groups to design an ad for their own store using the language and strategies learned in class.
Teaching key points:
to summarize the language and strategies used in the text and then use them properly in their own ad.
to brainstorm other possible ways to make the ad more attractive and then use them properly in their own ad.
Teaching difficulties:
To use the prepositions at, for correctly in the phrase of at one’s great sale, at very good prices, they have... for...dollars, for girls, for boys.
Teaching Procedure
Activity 1: Watch a video clip from Good luck Charlie and answer the following Wh-questions.
1) What do they want to buy? Why do they have to wait in line on Thanksgiving Day?
The laptops are really cheap. People sell them for only 49 dollars. They are at terrific/very good prices.
2) Where can they buy the things?
Ss Compare another two photos: one store on big sale with lots of customers and another with no customers to elicit big sale, at a great sale
3) When can they buy things at a great sale?
Teacher leads Ss to discuss on the occasions when stores are on big sale and get to know some shopping festival home and abroad such as Double Eleven and Black Friday.
4) How do they know things are at a great sale?
They read some ads.
5) Where can we see ads?
On TV, in the newspaper, on the Internet, on the street... So ads can be everywhere.
6) Why do people put ads everywhere?
To attract more customers.
Activity 2: Listen, Read and Imitate.
1) Ss listen to the an ad and fill in the price tags.
2) Ss check the answers by asking their peers the questions“How much are their ...?”and ask the question as They have...for...dollars.
3) Ss read after the recording, mark the tone and imitate the tone, especially the stress.
Activity 3: Compare the text with a simplified version with only the price information
Ss compare the two texts and look for the differences, and T summarizes the ways the writer uses to attract customers
a. Invite customers to the store at the beginning and the end (Come and buy our clothes...Come to our store now!)
b. Use the selling strategy of big sale (at great sale, at very good prices, only)
c. Ask questions to attract customers' attention (Do you like...? Do you need..? How much are our...?)
d. Think about different customers' needs (for boys, .../for girls,...)
Activity 4: Brainstorm other ways to make the ad even more attractive.
e.add words like Big Sale at before the title
f. add some adjectives to describe the things in the store.
g.add other possible sales promoting strategies.
Buy one get one free./Buy one, get one half off.
Gifts
Coupons
Free delivery
Free samples
....
Activity 5: Design an ad for one store.
Make an ad for one store (stationery store, sports store, furniture store, book store...) and present it to the class. Ss can choose the things they want to sell and write the ad on shimo.im. After writing, Ss make use of the checklist to assess their peers’ work.

| 2. Does your ad have attractive pictures? |

Activity 6: Discuss on the purchase decision when seeing something on sale to think critically about sales. After discussion, T gives the advice “ Think twice before you buy.”
Assignments:
Oral:
Recite 2b
Written:
1.Individual work: Write an ad for your own store
2.Unit 7 Exercise book 2.

Reflection
