教材分析

本课是七年级上册第八单元 Section A 1a—3c 教学内容。教材以 When is your birthday ?为中心话题 。Section A 是本单元的重点部分也是核心教学内容。其中1a-1c 是重点学习表示月份名称的词，学会谈论自己和询问他人的生日。2a-2c 是继续学习这部分内容。重点学习运用序数词表达日期。

 学情分析

本单元的主题是询问和谈论日期，围绕主题进行一系列的交际活动，使学生掌握日期的表达方式，正确使用 when引导的特殊疑问句对日期进行询问。在日期的表达法时学生不仅要记住较长的月份名词，还要运用序数词。尽管上一单元学习了基数词，两者之间的发音、书写均不同，学生掌握其起来有一定的难度。这就要求教师在备课时要充分考虑学生的学情。多设梯度降低

本课的序数词学习是一大难点，在学习中尽量采取多种手段强化记忆序数词的构成。希望通过本课的学习，学生能做到熟练询问和回答日期，准确读写序数词。引导学生运用核心句型对同学生日展开调查，加深彼此间的了解。

整体设计

【教学目标】

1．      能掌握下列词汇：when , January , February , Match , April , May , June , July , August , September , October , November , December.

2．      揭示并让学生掌握序数词的构成方式，重点记忆序数词的书写。

3．      能听懂谈论谁的话题材料，并能掌握日期的询问与表达方式

4．      能通过谈自己、同学以及家人的生日，理解生日更多的含义

5．      能掌握以下句型：

 （1）---When is your birthday ?  --- My birthday is on 2nd October .

  ( 2) ---When is Alice’s birthday ? --- It’s in September .

  ( 3) --- How old are you ?       --- I’m thirteen.

重点：（1）询问表达他人、自己以及家人的生日，理解生日的含义。

     （2）揭示并让学生掌握序数词的构成方式，重点记忆特殊序数词的书写。

      (3 ) 总结归纳when 引导的特殊疑问句对生日的询问和应答来学习日期的表达法

Step 1 : Warming-up

1. Listen to the birthday song.
2. Sing together.

Step 2 : Presentation

1. Teacher : When is your birthday ?   My birthday is Match 12th. And when is your birthday ? You may answer it in Chinese.

（ 设计意图 ：引出12个月的单词的教学，用 12 个月的幻灯片进行教学。）

 Teacher :There are 12 months in a year . They are January , February , Match , April , June , July , August , September , October , November , December.

 (指导方法：逐个教学后，然后听、跟读、以便学生能流利地朗读。)

2.Revice: From one to thirty-one.Say: When we talk the date,we should use different numbers—ordinal numbers.

3.Teach students to learn the ordinal numbers

Show the chant and help students remember the ordinal numbers

 基变序，有规律，词尾加上th

 一二三，特殊记( first, second, third.);

 八去t来( eigth) , 九去e (ninth) ;

 整十的时候要注意，变y为i再加e(twenty-twentieth,forty-fortieth) , -th最后加上去；

 若表示几十几，只变个位就可以（twenty-one  twenty-first; thirty-five  thirty-fifth）

(设计意图：以游戏的形式巩固所学单词，为下一步学习打下基础。本课的难点是日期的表达，要让学生熟练地表达出来，需要把英语月份的十二个单词和序数词两大难点各个击破。因而设置了反复循环法练习英语月份和序数词，寓教于乐，帮助学生攻克难过，也为下一步练习核心句型扫除障碍。)

 Before listening

1. Get students to read the ordinal numbers of 2a and circle some difficult words
2. Say: We’ll listen to four students’ birthdays. Who are they? You must pay attention to the key words after the names and months.

 (设计意图：听力教学中教师应为学生多设梯度，降低难度，适时渗透听力技巧，增加提前的活动可以使学生熟悉话题，进行热身，激活背景知识，明确任务要求，扫除听力障碍，使听力的有的放矢。)

1. Read the sentences in the chant.

 （指导方法： 在读的过程中，注意询问不同人的生日，问法有什么变化，答语有何不同）

观察与思考

观察 Grammar Focus 中的问句，如果问道 Alice的生日是什么时候，是怎样提问的？

——————————————？观察答语，具体到几月几日用介词——，如果只具体到某个月份用介词——。在2e中，在今天下午三点，用介词——。因此，我们可以用口诀来表达; in标段，on表天，at表示时间点。

Step 6: Work on 3a and 3b

1. Read the questions and answers in 3a and then match the questions and answers.

 （指导方法：提醒学生明确问题是一般疑问句还是疑问句，还要根据文件中的物主代词或名词所有格的人称及数来确定答语。比如：第一个问题中名词所有格是Jenny’s,而Jenny是女性，可知答语中应用Her birthday来回答，故应选B项。）

2. Students read the questions and answers .Find the answers to the questions.Then check the answers with the class.
3. Students work with his or her partner.Ask and answer the questions.
4. Teacher:Grace and her friends are talking about their ages and birthdays.Read the conversation and fill in the blanks.

 教学反思

通过本节课的学习，大多数学生能熟练地掌握怎样问一个人的生日，也知道怎样回答。通过学生演练，培养了学生积极主动的心理状态，培养了学生的交际能力和学习的主动性。本节课主要学习了12个月份的单词，因为单词较长，通过以前学过单词，引出新词，学生很有成就感，同时通过一首与课文内容紧密结合的歌曲也激发了学生的兴趣，通过歌曲的演唱加深对单词的理解和把握。通过生活化的情境引出句型，降低了学习的难度，使学生比较准确地把握了句型的意义。这节课词汇量比较大，12个月份的单词也比较难记，对于基础比较薄弱的学生来说全部掌握有一定的困难，但是假如他们记住了自己出生的月份，家人出生的月份以及好友出生的月份，那么对于他们来说目的也就达到了。把1~31序数词的学习也放在这节课里，因为基数词1~31刚在前一个单元学过，所以对于他们来说困难不会太大。对学生来说在一节课内要把月、日流利地说正确可能有一定的困难，主要是学生会经常用序数词表达“日”。口诀对学生的记忆帮助很大。
