On Octber 27, 2021, my friend and I barded the first flight f ur jurney frm Vancuver Island, t Peru, Suth America.
Twenty-fur hurs and fur airprts later we landed in Cusc, Peru, a city f ne millin peple. Cming frm Vancuver Island with nly 100 feet abve sea level, we knew that we were nw at a much higher altitude (海拔) -- ver 11,000 feet-- and needed time t get used t the scarcer xygen (缺氧) levels! We were sn hiking thrugh the ruins and surrunding ancient castles f Cusc. Leaving Cusc the next day, we stpped at the Mray Ruins, which were used fr farming by the Incas. Their size and unique design shuld be cnsidered a lessn in histrical engineering skills. This Inca site is ne f the least knwn turist destinatins, but it’s ne f the mst interesting places t visit.
Arriving in the beautiful Sacred Valley, we stayed at Willka T'ika fr the next week. This place is wnderful. We enjyed delicius vegetarian meals, all made with lcal prduce by lving Quechua peple.
Yu can’t g t Peru withut visiting histric Machu Picchu. The “rad” up t the ruins is made up f an endless series f switchbacks (急转弯), resulting in cld sweats. It was wrth the ride, thugh.

Psychlgist Susan Levine, an expert n mathematics develpment in yung children the University f Chicag, fund children wh play with puzzles between ages 2 and 4 later develp better spatial skills.
