Grammar Fcus
由wh-引导的宾语从句。连接词常见的有wh, what, when, where, why, hw 等。 从句用陈述语序。
上一个单元我们已经学习了由that和whether, if引导的宾语从句。这个单元我们继续学习由疑问词引导的宾语从句。疑问词:疑问代词(what, whm, wh, whse, which) 疑问副词(when, where, why, hw)。
Objective clauses with wh-questins
当从句是特殊疑问句时,疑问词就是宾语从句的引导词。连接代词wh,whm,whse,which,what和连接副词where,hw,why,when可引导宾语从句,并在从句中作一定成分。
在含有宾语从句的复合句中,宾语从句要用陈述语序,即“引导词 + 主语 + 谓语 + 其他”结构。“Where did he g last mnth?” She asked. = She asked where he went last mnth.当疑问代词what/wh在特殊疑问句中作主语时,该特殊疑问句本身即是陈述语序,所以转变成宾语从句后无需再调整语序。“What’s wrng with the TV?” Tm asks. = Tm asks what’s wrng with the TV.
在含有疑问词引导的宾语从句的主从复合句中,如果从句的主语与主句的主语或宾语一致,则宾语从句可以转化为“疑问词 + 动词不定式”结构。I want t knw hw I get there. → I want t knw hw t get there.
