概念:在复合句中修饰名词或代词 的句子叫作定语从句。
关系词的 作用：
指代先行词，又在从句中充当相应的句子成分。
从句的谓语和先行词保持一致
当先行词是物时, 用that或which引导.
These are the trees that/which were planted last year.
当先行词是人时, 用wh/whm/that引导.
The man wh/whm/that I visited yesterday is my uncle.

下列情况只能用that
1.当先行词被序数词或形容词最高级修饰时。
eg. Tm is the cleverest by that I have ever knwn.
2. 当先行词是指物的不定代词时。如：all,anything,smething,nthing,nne,the ne, everything,little,few,much,any 。
eg. Here is smething ( that) I will tell yu.
3．先行词被the nly，the very， the last等修饰时。
eg. This is the nly nvel that yu want t brrw．
4．先行词是或被all，n，sme，any，little，much等修饰时。
eg. I've written dwn all the things that the teacher desn't allw us t d．
5．先行词即有人也有物时,用that, 既不用which,也不用wh。
eg.He tld us many interesting things and persns that we had never heard．
6.主句的主语是疑问词wh /which时 ,为了避免重复，只用that。
eg.Wh is the girl that is crying？ eg.Which is the bike that yu lst?
下列情况只能用which
1. 介词前置时，不用that。即介词提在定语从句前。
2. 非限制性定语从句只用which
eg.This is the rm in which he lives.
eg. The necklace, which yu gave me as a present, was lst yesterday.
3.先行词为that时,避免重复，用which.
eg. What’s that which is under the desk?
